i don't think i will ever channel this car but a 3 or 4" chop is not totally out of the question . i wouldn't do a chop unless i dropped the ride height some as well with reversed eye springs and flattened crossmembers but i would have to split the bones too and i'm not sure i want to do that to this car . pictures are way cool though . thanx

Hey Man, The video is awsome!! I just found this thread last night and skipped to the video. I thought the barn looked familar than i noticed you were from upstate, so I went to your website and it clicked. I go through Pennelville on my deliveries and had to go by your barn when the bridge on 54 was out. I deliver to Dave's wife's diner. I will go back and read the rest of the thread now.

Like I said in my text the condenser is the culprit. I went through 3 of them trying to figure out the problem like you we're having. They were new ones. Think I actually got one of an old for distributor I had and it worked. Good quality stuff out there. I say put one in the glove box, never know when you'll need it, try to find some good older ones. Like I mentioned you may try getting down to the bottom plate and adjusting it so get the most advance you can get out of it. The Mallory isn't set up with enough centrifugal advance out of the box so adjust the bottom plate to give max. After I got a good condenser and adjusted the Mallory dual point lower plate to giveaway advance it woke mine up. I fought and fought it until we did those things, almost guarantee it was condenser, new ones are just crap. Glad you got her going!

thanx , i wish we had a couple trips up the beach before we started racing . there was a couple run learning curve . maybe if i had a chance to put more than 5 miles on the car before bringing it to jersey to race on the beach that would have helped too ...... ha ha ......i had a riot and i am sure everyone else did too.

i wish i knew more about it . builder told me its a 1941 block 220something??? ci block bored to stock 239 specs so he could use rings and pistons he had laying around , he said the crank is stock and that the cam is just a stock merc cam (LOL) it's obviously a custom grind but he had no specs . he did tell me who he got it from so i am going to try to get in touch with him to learn more .

    thanx for the compliment .

It was great to meet you this weekend. Glad I got to check out your car. It did indeed sound badass. As a matter of fact, I said that very thing to my wife when we were following you off of the beach Saturday.
