Captioned "rare old Miller racecar, examined by customs inspectors," dated 1959, no more information, it is clearly an old Miller racecar, complete with inter-cooler, but no more information...

Caption: Photograph caption dated October 9, 1956 reads, "Members of 'Throttle Queens' put last touches to their pride and joy, club coupe which will compete against male-driven car at the San Fernando Drag Strip. From left are Wilma Brown, Pat Marian, Pat Field, the driver, and June Minnich. Car hit 97 miles per hour and won trophy in its division."

Photograph caption dated April 6, 1951 reads, "High trees and other shrubbery hide raided 'palace of illicit pleasure' from neighboring swanky homes in Hollywood Hills. Here, film stars and wealthy players cavorted in the nude with beautiful 'partygirls.' A little black book found in the place contained names of hundreds of filmdom's personalities. The convertible Cadillac allegedly belongs to Kal Rubin, one of the men nabbed in raid."

Ascot Speedway, 1926, if I recall correctly, there were several Ascot Speedways in SoCal, the last one in Gardena, not a trace left...not sure where this one was.

Culver Speedway, 1924. This place was HUGE! Gives a sense of how popular automobile racing was in Southern California in the early '20s

Aerial view of Beverly Hills racetrack, 1922. If I remember correctly, this was a board track.

Are you sure this pix of the "Culver" speedway is in Culver City?
I know the old Culver City speedway used to be called the "Dog track" where they raced Greyhounds in the '30's.
Then they raced cars in the '40's.

I vaguely remember this depot in Wichita, Kansas. It was demolished to make way for a bank.
