here is some pics of my first "real" top chop!

"real" because I not include hot-rod top chop, much more easy!

It's a customer project, my job is the top chop and the 2doors conversion.

    I start by the chop:

2inches on the A pilar and a little more than 3inches on the rear

The owner want the more fluid line possible, so the rear isn't moved forward, but just inclined

today, the left rear corner is done too. Now I will start the 2 doors conversion. Moved back the B pillar, lengthen the front doors and rebuild the rear quarter panel and glass.

If you look something wrong on my job, or have advices for me, don't hesitate to tell it to me!
I'm a newbie on this job!

  2. NICE CHOP! i like your work so far. cant wait to see the door conversion

i dont know much but what is the difference in 'hotrod chop' and 'real' chop?
like you mean a 30's 40's car chop as hotrod and real chop as in a 50's sedan chop?

All the chop I did before were on model A. And on a model A, a top chop is really simple!
Here, the cut and the remodeling is much harder... it's the reason of my "real"

    I hope you undetrstand me....:(

  4. I get it now. That's what I thought you meant but didn't want to jump to conclusions :)

What price-range should I think off when doing a 2door conversion and chop?
Don't need the exact numbers, just wondering what this might cost in Europe.
Thanks...(you may PM it to me if you feel thats better)

    Project looks great so far!

Really excellent flow to this shoebox. Tu-door conversion is a brave step. It is a treat to see some work from our hot roddin pals in France. Best wishes on this project and thanx again for sharing with all of us. ~sololobo~

    thanks you guys!!!

Of course I will continue to up-dating this thread, but I only do the chop and 2doors conversion. I don't finish the car. Jim, the owner will finish it alone. If I have news of his work, I will post it here ;-)

some news soon! the door or cuted!!

    Some news!

it's time to lengthen the doors!

After the door skin, the inner skin:

    on the body:

the B-pillar is moved back to fit the new door.

scratch build front glass frame patch, to fill the hole on the lengthened door

ready to weld the patch and the corner

    That's all today!
