Hambr's in the Schaumberg (Chicago) area Mecum Auction is looking for some help at the Schaumburg Convention Center Oct 8th-10th helping move and park hot rods and collector cars.We could also use a few people Oct 10th-12th the pay is $15 hr. You get to drive some bad ass cars and get paid for it.
I participate as a bidder. It would be great to meet some of you guys. What do I look for...greasy hair, tattoos, chain-drive wallets, biker boots?

It's great to have Hamb'rs help us out because their car guys that love the cars and are familiar with the different little things that it takes to make everything easy. Could use a few more guys
We appreciate the support. I also know that the date change was not intentional. Honestly - 2 different markets..... There are only a handful of people that I see at the shows I go to every weekend that are going to the Mecum auctions. In todays economy, some people need to make some extra $$$. Working at Mecum is a good way to do that. I have no idea what Hodges has in store for the workers.... I can tell you I will miss working the Mecum auction cause I need the payday. We hope that the attendees of the Iron Invasion will purchase a shirt - this is how WE get paid. The gate $$$ goes to pay the show and anything over that is distributed to our adopted families. No matter what show you hit that week (why not hit both?) be safe and enjoy the ride!
so not to derail the thread , but in hopes of helping pay to pay the bills , how much are the t shirts and who to contact for those of us that can't make the trek in person, and I imagine donations are accepted for both events (Iron and Hanna's) via their sites . (and yes I looked for the shirt on line before I asked )
I am hitting BOTH (remember those TV ads...Bo Jackson, etc.) Will hit Mecum on Thursday, head to Woodstock that night, unload the car on Friday AM, head back to Mecum, hit the pre-party at Iron Invasion Friday night and be there all day on Saturday. Anybody want to hang with me. I am a GOLD CLUB member! woooohoooo.
