Like most... I am speechless AND feeling inadequate. Beautiful work, Schoum. I know how tough you guys have it in France. I visited Gilles in Grenoble a few years back (2006) and I think there were two or three other hot rodders in the whole town.
Thanks you Thor! I don't think that my lakester tyres meet the bonneville salt one day! It's really hard in logistic from FRANCE, and many conception details aren't "eligible" to the SCTA rules!
haha! thanks you very much for your proposition! but I think it will be very hard to win this challenge! maybe an other solution with the UK version at Pendine! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=830985
Teriffic build thread. Coolant through frame rails is brilliant. Just cracked open a cold beer and paged through it all. You have Mad-Fabrication skills. Thanks for sharing. JT p.s.re-shoot some of the pictures in black n white or sepia tone. Would appear to be from post WWII era
schoum, You have created a 'work of art'. From one hot rodder to another, your abilities are awesome. My prior comment was not criticism; merely a statement of fact. The rules preserve an era. I applaud your accomplishments. All the best. Carl Edward Orr
I now take back everything I've ever said about the French! Schizzle dizzle my friend your building skills are off the hook. Good luck with your shop. You should have a nice customer base in no time.
Nice build!. I think you would be made very welcome at Pendine. Contact Neil about joining the VHRA. David
I thought I was done in the garage today. I'm inspired all over again. Time to get back to work! Thank you for the motivation!
I hate seeing threads like this, because it just reminds me all to clearly of how much of a hacker I am! Awesome skills, vision, planning, and execution! Thanks for sharing this with us.
Very nice work and I for one hope to see it turn a wheel in anger on the beach, salt or sand! Good luck to you.
Not all Bonnevile styled cars have to run at Bonneville. Not all "race cars"(Gassers)will be used on the race track. Sometimes we build cars just to exercise our creative talents and yours are excellent!
Hey Ryan those weren't fighting words! I'm getting used to the new layout. I should have put a smiley face in there somewhere... TP
While you might not be able to run at Bonneville, you should go to the Pendine Sands event in Wales in September 2014. After all that is where the land speed records were set in the 1920s and your traditional build would fit in well at that event. And you'd get the chance to drive on the same sands where Thomas Parry drove (and wrecked) "Babs". If you want to see how fast it will go buy 5-day license plates in Germany (cost about 80) and test it on the Autobahn early Sunday morning when nobody is about. Strictly you'd be legal and you can drive as fast as you like. By the way, I love the car you built and admire your vision. Ed
