So no one interested in a replica / clone of the Doane Spencer deuce that he raced in Pan American races as well as at the lakes - that counts as a race car, dunnit?
That is one clone I'd be proud to have

For me; dream big. It would be a salt flats streamliner (M/T, Socal, Jocko's, etc) or a belly tank or even the Speed Sport roadster..

Problem being "street legal" vs. "streetable" as in radiator cooling with a closed front end on a tanker, Chrisman coupe, Speed sport roadster, etc.
Then all the street legal crap like headlights, tailights, etc. would booger up the looks...

I can accept "CLONE", but I hate tribute.

I have been collecting bits and pieces of data to build a Auto Union Type D for YEARS.

Motor and transmission would be the big hangup for me. Maybe a older Marmon 12 or something in that vein will get it done.

There are several that I would still like to do, but the Red "Top Hat Coupe" could be at the top of the list right now....

  17. I kind of like this type of decor. It doesn't fit the era that the truck would have been used in, but there is a visual impact that I like. (like a sexy young woman, it makes me suck in my gut)

well I couldn't help myself to do this. even after reading all the posts. but this has been an iconic car I used to watch as a kid. I finally got one after searching for the right one for almost 20 years. it has been a dear car due to its integration into my memories of me and my step father. our first ride to work on of many. he had owned one when I had met him.

Pics to come after phone charges... ooops didn't mean to get you all excited. it will be worth the wait.

the only part of my "Tribute Car" that I don't have is the 426 in the rear of the car. I took it to its first car show and got a huge acceptance from the older guys and some of the younger ones as well.

after all. who didn't like the "hemi under glass" cars?
