It is infinitely better than before. No bottoming out, no rough ride. I did notice that when I had people in the backseat that the front was a little more loose though.

I agree lol only reason it's still flat black is because that's how she came and there's a lot if body work needed before time and money is invested into a nice paint job.

Preferably paint, shopping around on the best way to do it. May do the body work and rent a paint booth and have Harvey spray it.

Also looking into options for the rear end/trans so I can cruise on the highway without feeling like the motor's about to rev itself apart lol. Although I hear yours is in that boat as well. Now that the car rides nice, I want to avoid the trailer for the longer hauls and Mike won't have to give me such a hard time.

Mine will run 60-65mph all day, she cries a little at those speeds, but not too bad. The rest of the gang likes to run 70 plus.

Maybe shoot Yohan an email, he has a newer rearend for his car that he may not be using, might be a bargin.

Same here. Mike said 65 in his Hudson but the wagon has OD so 70 plus sounds more plausible lol. I can do 70 but I'm sure the RPMs are through the roof at that point. I'm gonna pick up a tach for sure.

I will def shoot Yohan an email. I take it his car won't be on the road anytime soon then haha.

slightly old thread.. but I like it. Nice little hot rod.

  23. I like it too, got my girlfriend to help me out in my 53! Keep us posted V8Vixen!

  24. The car looks extremely sharp, I am in the process of restoring my '53 Mainline and going with a 302. The 4'' drop is awesome, I was looking into Butch's cool stuff as they have a lowering block setup for the older fords. Where did you get yours?

    Thanks!!

The A-arm spacers can be found here:
    http://shop.kustomcarparts.com/1949...Lowering-Block-Kits-lowerkit-front-4956fm.htm

The blocks are from Beltech, I got them through one of my distributors here at work (I sell Mustang parts but get lots of lines!). The part # for the kit is 6203. Let me know if you can't find it.

Then I just got some Aerostar springs (Moog) and some shocks from Amazon. I can look up part #s and stuff if you need them.

Maybe in the mean time shoot the top with some flake to match your door panels. Maybe paint the wheels the same color too. Might break up some of the black.

    Looking good!

Door panels are actually back to black now. BUT, I am starting now to fix a couple rust spots and body spots that need TLC on the car and then the car will be repainted and the top will get some flake. :D
