What kind of engine do i have? Whats it worth?

Looks like a 62-65 327 small block. I got one of those in my chevy!

 

1962 vette 360 horse fi manual trans

 

casting numbers are for 62-65 327 250-375 hp

 

RF can mean '57 283 truck or '62-'64 FI 327. In conjunction with the casting number, I would have to concur with the others, it looks like you may have a "fuelie".

 

If it's tapered LESS than .008", ball hone it and fit it with a set of Grant rings. (cast iron)

...and don't forget the valve guides...

 

Or sell it and buy a crate motor, or two...

Hey is it RF or RE? Either way....its a 1964 Corvette engine....see how the vin stamp starts with a 4? Its a '64 engine...

 

Whoever owns '64 Corvette serial # 194374S103393 (coupe) OR 194674S103393 (convert) is lookin' for that block. Engine assembled October 17, '64. DD

 

Ditto. What are the casting numbers and date codes for the heads?

 

If they are original to the block, they will probably be #461's or 461X's.

I am sure it was assembled October of 1963 for 1964 model year....GM nomally stopped building any certain model year in July-August....

 

Yup, I was just gonna say the same thing. So when you say you "got it figured out" whats the story? Alot of us want to know how this is gonna end. Was it re-stamped? Whats the story?

 

DUHHHHHHH....I knew that date sounded "not right". How about assembled Oct '63? Sorry for the dumb info. Just for grins, what's the casting date on block above bellhousing flange? DD
