i have been looking for photos of 1931 and 1932 mopar passenger car frames. i have been using an image search and have not found much. i need top and side views of the frames. there is a good top view of a frame that is placed on it's side but i have seen this same photo titled from anything from a 1931 1932 Plymouth or Dodge.

  2. I'm building a 30' Chrysler coupe. I boxed the frame. I'm sure I have pix some where of it. Don't know if that would help? My buddy is building a 31' Chrysler coupe. The body and running board apron is still on the frame. Might be able to take some pix of the frame on his?

  3. 1931 Dodge DH6, 1931 Chrysler CM6 and 1931 DeSoto SA6 are similar. I can assure you that the first one is a 1931 Dodge DH6 frame factory photo....the others are my car frame. The '32 frame will have a giant "X" brace.

i have seen the top left photo and it is sometime call a 32 plymouth or dodge frame not really sure what it is. i am interested in the mopar frame that has a similar look from the top view as the 1932 ford frame

  5. I can assure you that all of the frame photos are definitely a 1931 Dodge DH6 frame. I have two of them. A '32 Dodge frame looks like this....

thanks for the photo. the frames i want photos of are bowed outward and look very much like a 1932 ford frame.

  10. Here is a 1932 DB frame. Looks VERY close to the 1931 frame except for the "X" in the center......

Dodge and Plymouth frames will always differ except for maybe some Canadian made cars.

What you may want to do is go to this website and find a guy who goes by the call name of "Xframe" and see what he has on the subject. He has a TON of information including dimensions....http://forums.aaca.org/forum.php

the 1931 dodge frame seems not as swepted upward as much
toward the front of the frame as the 1932 dodge frame is.

  14. I think that is an optical illusion. I believe they are pretty much the same profile. A '31 and '32 Dodge radiator shell is nearly identical with one another which leads me to believe that they are the same.

does anyone have print of the top and side view of a 1931 dodge passenger car frame. hoping that there is a print similar to ones Wescotts has for ford frames.

center section of frame under door about 52''L
rear frame bottom where it begins to go up n bend to center of axle straight back to bottom frame 8-8 1/2''
frame over center rear tire top to bottom 3 1/2'' with lip that hangs down 4''
bottom of frame at begining of wheel well to back of frame 47-48''
front:: from back of fender to center tire 46-47'' center tire to front of frame 20''
if frame was flat on floor, from floor to top of front frame 8 3/4''

all measurements are approximat and the bottom of my frame isnt perfectly flat.
    hope this helps. bh

did the 1932 dodge frame X member have different number of large holes from one model of frame to another? if another frame were longer would there be more but smaller holes in the X member?

  27. I am not sure about this, but I believe that the X members were all the same for the 6 and 8 cylinder models (DL and DK) Dodge in 1932. The difference was in the length of the front of the frame for the extra two cylinders.
