Don't really understand why the "Intro Post" is so important? Y'all can ignore antone ya wish and spam is pretty recognisable(sp?) these days?

I had that one bought in Outlaw Country. Had cash in hand. the old guy changed the deal and wanted to keep the spark plugs out of it - odd but what the hell, I was gonna put new plugs in it any way and it only takes six so I agreed. that was followed by a series of demands that got a little more goofy with each one. I walked away from it after having sold another car to buy it. A month later I get a call from the guy saying, "just come pay me - I'll even let you keep the spark plugs". naw, I'm good. that one pissed me off. I've known that car since 1985 (knew the original elderly female owner) and have watched it rot in the hands of several indifferent owners. it's nothing special - '59 Custom 300, six/three on the tree with hang-down air - but it's always haunted me ~ que sera ~

YES! You do know that car. I pass it regularly on my way 7 miles further south. I'm glad to know the back story on it because it always strikes me odd that it's sitting there in the alley up on blocks.

So you probably know the '48 Ford pickup "yard art" near there and the 42 Chevy Fleetline sitting in front of "Not A Salvage Yard". I'd be interested in the Fleetline, but I've got too many irons in the fire now...

  9. ^^^^^^a early 50's Mopar with late 50's Desota fins??...or is that standard down under??....looks kinda cool?

  10. Look at the intro this way....Suppose you and your friends are sitting around in the shop sharing whatever your choice of refreshment is, and someone walks up off the street and parks his bum on the bench to join in.
Wouldn't you want some sort of introduction? At least maybe something from someone like "this is------ he's an OK guy".
Same here. We are a community, and we are just old school enough to feel someone is a stranger until they are introduced.

You can't quite tell from the perspective of this photo, but the camera is below this car. The photo was taken looking up at a Loess bluff along the Missouri River. The car is hanging out of the dirt high above the road which passes by. It looks precarious, but the Loess is some sticky stuff. It just hangs there.
