  9. Man, that Monte is sweet. It reminds me of the ones I used to see around here as a kid.

On Friday and Saturday nights, me and my friends used to gather on the southeast corner of Alameda and Federal to watch the cars cruise by. There was a tire shop on the corner that used to put a cable across the entrance and exit of the parking lot to keep people from cutting through the parking lot. They used to close by 6 every night, so we would jump on our BMX bikes and head over there once they closed. There was just enough room to ride your bike by the cables into the lot. We would practice riding tricks in the lot and watch for cool cars driving by. We were always careful not to mess up anything or to leave any trash behind. It was the perfect place to hang out and we didn't want to get run off.

There was always alot to see. Hot rods and muscle cars on their way to Colfax to cruise, and the lowriders on their way to 38th Avenue.

Man, those were the days. The kids of today don't know what they're missing..........E

I like cars that blur cultural lines like this one. A Bomb chopped like a kustom but ndone of a car from the hot rod era which happens to also be a 4dr. This is an epic car, anybody else have pics of it?

They don't know because they were not around to know what it was like to see those lowriders cruisin' the Boulevard.
    Cruise Nite isn't cruisin'.

My Cadillac...still in the works. I know the wide whites aren't correct for the car...but I like them.

Adam, that Cad is not a 'lowrider'. It's a custom. Posting it on the candies flames and lace custom painting thread is one shoe in.

Slammed: I've been on the fence of what to call it. Guess its a borderline car.

Yes my Impala is static dropped to within 3" (lower control arms) from the ground and hear 'low rider' from the general public. Thin WW's and juiced all corners and then you have a more trad (!) Low Rider. Hey your waaaaaaayy close than a dude from the PNW whose '62 lowered 2" and tried calling it a 'low rider'. Post it up on the 'candy, lace and flames thread for sure.

Creeping towards that early lowrider look with my 53. Found these 14'' Cragars with like new tires for dirt cheap on the local CL, so I couldn't help myself. I went ahead and rattle canned the drums white before I threw them on. Now I just need to get her closer to the earth, some scroll style pin striping, a chain steering wheel, and some dingle balls for the window frames. Then she'll be ready to bomb the boulevard!

Does anybody remember when this caddy was on the Sonny and Cher show , she did the Vamp thing on the roof of it, haven't found it on youtube yet.

  26. I thought that was the Sonny and Cher car. I remember it being for sale in the back of Lowrider Magazine in the early 80s..........E

this 67 was mine, bought it stock white in '76 and built it in my garage. did everything except the seats and pinstripes myself.
Sold it in 82 or so and it got stolen from the new owner the first day he had it.
Inglewood police found it two weeks later completely stripped and laying on the frame in an ally.:(
