    heh. good ole Rat City.

used to work in a tin shop just off Roxbury - would be shearing steel and look out the roll up door and see hookers plying their age old trade... they did their job, I did mine! :D

Love this post abut didn't want to make it longer. I was catching up on the last few days and noticed the posts on Linda Vaughn. Duece Daddy Don asked about how Linda was doing. I saw her last Saturday at Woodward Dream Cruise. She was signing autographs and signed the glove box on my SC/Rambler. Didn't ask her but she looked good and was in good spirits. Tough to do at Dream Cruise.

  4. Here's some interesting one's, of an ad being filmed for B/A, plus a few others as well. It always seems like there are an awful lot of people at these ad shoots doing nothing. The last picture was the private residence of the Eaton family.

It's totally unfair to the fine ladies who worked in the Diamond T plant to post their photos next to the trollups above, but this shot from the factory lunch counter is an interesting peek back in time.

If you go to Google maps - type in 9200 Atlantic Avenue Margate City NJ click on the satellite box in upper right and you will get an aerial view of Lucy the elephant. Use your mouse wheel to zoom in. I went up inside the elephant when I was a kid in the 50's and it still is in my head.

Does anyone know the location and history of this photo ... what's the story on the giant elephant in the background?[/QUOTE]

Sure must be an interesting story behind this one:confused:

  13. My future mom-in-law (RIP) on the right and her older sister. Westbury NY. We guess the photo was around 1935 considering she was born in 1918. The car in the photo was her father's. A model a cabriolet?

Building Diamond T truck cabs, Chicago 1946. It was a small, independent company. They built big trucks out of small parts.

Yup, a 1930 Model A Cabriolet. Cool shot.

  17. A dew more for tonight. I'd say the hill climb bikers were a little crazy back then!

Darn, why didn't I think of that! Thought it was a real heavy large wheel of some sort, maybe?

The Chuckwagon Gang is still going strong after 75 years. I checked and they are on tour right now in the east somewhere.

It looks like a still from the new Great Gatsby movie - 20% real, 80% CGI.
