Since I've become addicted to all of the build threads on here and have gotten so much help over the years I thought I'd finally start a build thread on my 57' Ranch Wagon. As always this started just as a " daily driver" and has grown to a full on custom build as I can't leave shit alone! I'm a full time musician so found this wagon and thought this would be killer to throw my gear in and drive to gigs in plus have a cruiser for the wife and kids.

Here a are a couple of pics when I first got it. (I'll try to keep this pic count down as I just entered year 3) First thing I did was put a 302, C4, Disk conversion etc.

Took it over to my buddy Mike Webb's shop to start on the body work as the 2 year old wasn't digging all the banging.

I really didn't like the taillight seams.

Couldn't hang with all of the handles and locks holes on the tailgate either...

Took all of the side trim off so might as well get rid of the fuel door.

I've never liked all of the seams on the front ends of the 57' fords so decided to weld them all up and do something with the headlights.

I'll get there. LOL I'm digging through almost 2 years worth of photos to try to do it in order. Sorry if a couple are out of order.

Front end all primed up. All body seams gone, stone guard molded in, hood all smoothed out. This is really not looking like my gigging wagon anymore. Doh!!

I said I can't leave stuff alone.... Gotta get rid of the speaker grill on the dash

This is going to be good. Soon I'll be starting a thread on my '54 RanchWagon. (I've been saying that for years...)

Nice! I'll be watching. It's nice to know that progress won't be stalled :). I am also a musician who purchased a wagon with similar intentions and ended up with a huge custom project. Mine won't be going to gigs except country clubs and marinas...

Very nice. Did you have to do any rockers or floors?

    you beat me to it----

  25. Nice build.

My parents had a four door Country Sedan, red and white with the town and country radio. The folks would make a bed in the back for me and my brother to sleep on during trips to visit grandma. Great memories.

I will send you mine when you finish with yours. I have three of four cars in line ahead of it. Not sure if I will get to it in this life time. Atleast not until I retire

Thanks Guys! Very little rust so the rockers and floors were actually great! No cowl vent I'll just have to roll with the windows down ;-)

She's sitting much better now!! 4-link in the back, bags in the front. had to put a new driveline tunnel in and notch the frame but made sure the back seat still lays flat.

Primed it and threw a guide coat on it just to see it sit all one color.
