Beautiful work as always! It's a shame to cover up such perfect sheet metal work with paint.

 

Great work! without showing all the bits that needed attention no-one would realise how much work goes into cherrying out a body like that.

Seeing all the post and gotta say thanks to all. I do want to say that Rudy did a great job on this car while it was at his shop. I just want to make sure that the praise get's spread around a bit. The car had went there to get all the metal work done, after meeting and seeing the work that Chris was doing and had done on other projects, I decided to finish the car there. Rudy has so much going on with other builds that it just made sense. I will say that if not for Rudy I would not own this car nor would this car have gotten to where it is today....

I really don't think it can get much better. Wow.

 

For me that is the ultimate hot rod, way better looking than a '32. Every time I see one I am reminded that I had to give one away in 1959 because I didn't have a place to store it. Your work is spectacular

 

Outstanding work. All that clean metal just further reminds me what a disaster my roadster body is!

Beautiful work, really love the attention to detail. That body had a lot of little issues that weren't really obvious to the casual observer, but you have done some great work to get them all "right".

Excellent job on all the pictures as well. They do a great job in explaining all the work you're doing. Can't wait to see more!

 

I was thinking about this thread and had to have another look, the body of that car was in incredible condition despite the dings and dents there is little rot. You did a very nice job of it.

The body had no rot whatsoever.......just to clear that up.

 

Do you have any pictures of how you clamped the hinges to the wood, or is it a trade secret? My wood was gone, and I had to replace the hinges on the doors. I never figured out how to accurately locate the holes for the hinges. I had been contemplating going to steel reinforcement, because it is the easy way out, but I would rather retain the wood.

Very nice to see an update on the car. I've been following it's progress every since Rudy helped me get my 34 together.

 

I have to subscribe, saw this car on Facebook a little while ago and love it!

 

We wanted the front of the hood to have the decorative bead that the original hoods had. So I press the bead into small strips that were contoured to fit around the grill. Once they fit the way I wanted them to I trimmed them into the hood and got them tacked in place.
