    I don't see myself
Doing any canyon carving with it that's for sure. Lol I know guys that run them
But have personally never have or even driven a car running them. That's why I asked. I do love the look of them that's for sure.

    I
Need to find a rear end that fits better of have this one cut down, or I wonder if I could get a some
Chrome steelies with the right about of
Back spacing. It seems the rear is way to wide. It's a B body rear. Has anybody pulled this off with the right amount of
    Back spacing to where it
    Looked ok?

I saw that thread, thank you. I was also referring to the running of a wider b body rear end in an A body. I'm wondering if I can run steelies with a big amount of back spacing

The following is a listing of flange to flange widths for various year 8-3/4" housings. This is a measure of the bare housing, with brake backing plates removed, from the outside of the flange across to the outside of the other flange. Chrysler part numbers are listed as well for the purpose of showing a distinction between some housings and axles.

Rear Axle Drum to Drum Measurements

This page compliments the other axle information with drum to drum
measurements based on car line. These measurements are taken from stock
rears with stock brakes and drums for that model.

    A-body 66-72 -------------------------- 57 1/8"
    B-Body 62-63 -------------------------- 58 1/2"
    64-67(except 64 Max Wedge) - 59 1/2"
    68-70 -------------------------- 60 1/8"
    71-74 -------------------------- 63"
    71-73 Wagons ----------------- 64 3/8"
    C-Body 65-69 -------------------------- 61 3/4"
    70-71(Chrysler and Fury)------ 63"
    70-73(and 69 Wagons) -------- 64 3/8"
    D-Body
    (Imperial) 65-66 -------------------------- 61 15/16"
    67-69 -------------------------- 62 5/16"
    70-71 -------------------------- 59 3/4"
    72-73 -------------------------- 64 9/16"
    E Body 70-74 -------------------------- 61 5/8"

The following chart can be found in the Mopar Performance Chassis Manual. the distance between spring perches is an accurate reference, however the Track listing is the source of a lot of misconceptions. Track is the distance between the two tires, and includes a proportion of the actual tire track, or patch where it contacts the ground. The chart below tends to lead people to believe that all 62-70 B-body 8-3/4 rearends are the same width, not true!

Body line - Track - Perches - Notes

    A-body, 65-72 55.6 43.0 4" lug bolt circle
    B-body, 62-70 59.2 44.0
    B-body, 71-72 62.0 47.3
    B-body station wagon, 71-72 63.4 47.3
    C-body, 64-72 63.4 47.3
    D-body, 64-72 63.4 47.3
    E-body, 70-74 60.7 46.0

I love 63 darts all plain four door, cloth seats and v6 badges. I think they make a perfect sleeper. Maybe drop it a little bit and done, no outward clues of what is hiding under the hood.

I guess I should have rephrased the title to "let's see some cool Darts" lol  I am pretty excited about it, I can't wait to get it in the garage and tweak it to my liking.. Of course what I like is completely different from what others like, and that's what makes this whole thing fun....

Do any older mopars have rims with say 5 to 6" back spacing?

I had picked up a '62 Dart and had asked myself the same question then I thought I'd put a straight axle underneath it. That makes just about anything cool!!

So the vans have a steel rim with a good amount of back spacing. Good to know, I will be on the hunt. And my buddies the Root Brothers have there 65 dart lettered up with the POISON DART on it! It's a killer car!

Six cylinder Darts didn't have any badging, and pretty sure they never made a V6 either. Slant 6.

I was told its out of a 55 ford truck, it may be a touch wide but with tall skinnier on it it should be fine

I have tried that you will not get to look right with just wheels and tires the most offset you can get is 1.5" on a 4" wheel and I used a 125 x 15 Firestone

    http://www.cokertire.com/brands/firestone/125r15-firestone-f560-blackwall-tire.html

    Part: RRR23-546115
    Size: 15x4
    Back Space: 1.50
    Hub ID:
    Load Rating:

It still will not look symmetrical to the fenders

I get what your saying as far as track width, and it's true a inch or 2 makes a huge difference. I'm gonna get my wheels and tires and see what the track width looks like and then if I'm not happy I will approach it then. At the moment my rear end width is what has me really concerned. I need to get the wheels tucked into the wheel wells so I can try to soften up the rear end some...
