The 270 4V intakes fit, and there are after market intakes for the low deck 241/270 Dodges group of engines.

If you are a really good fabricator than a tilt column is doable, but certainly not easy, same deal for the floor shift...all custom fab.

  6. Wonder how a 55 mopar dash shifter could be converted for the floor ? When I run across old Dodge Motor homes - I'm grabbing the shifters out of them to maybe use on my 56 or a D300 truck build I'm doing...

as fas as not hurting the trans the shift linkage would be cable operated and the throttle valve could stay hooked to the carbs correct

Post #5 covers it. The PowerFlite isn't much of a tranny compared to the 727. Parts are getting scarce & you'd still have an ancient 2 speed. I'd get an adaptor from "73RR"(there are others) it's just a shame the 904 won't work on the small CID Hemis.

Take a closer look at your existing system, or, better yet, buy a service manual. For this a Chilton will suffice.
You do have kick-down linkage but it is connected at the accelerator floor plate assembly, not at the carb.
If you swap to a later trans this could work, again, depending on your fabrication skills....however, I have never seen/heard of it done.

If you are still in the dark, please be specific with the question so we can help. Oh, and try some punctuation, just for us old guys...

George ...Ran a 904 on my '55 270 Hemi for two years until I discovered the A518 (46RH). Had to use the adaptor from Wilcap but it worked out great. The overdrive is a nice setup though. 23 mpg on the hiway running at 1800 RPM.....

OK, I was thinking there was a problem getting the starter to fit with the 904.
