hey guys, thanks for the positive responses on my kids car. well, were back at it. the car was reprimed and reblocked, now it's all apart again, ready to be edged out and put back together for the final time. (thank god!!) we painted the rear speaker shelf and shot the roof. i was going to paint it white originally, but we had some ice blue flake laying around so we decided to flake the roof and put the body candy blue over the top of that. here's a few pics of the roof.

afterwe sanded the roof w/800 grit, i put 1 coat of clear to bury the sanding scratches, then put 3 coats of candy over that, and then 4 coats of clear on top of the candy. really pops, looks cool.

Man, that is a very cool car. Back in my teen years we had a bunch of guys in the group and all had their own car preferences. We had the obligatory Ford and Chevy guys. We had a couple of Studebaker guys. Of course you had the Mopar guys. Then there was the lone AMC Rambler guy. His Dad owned a few over the years and they were always the most reliable. Never a story of car trouble in that house. Seeing your sons car is in Conn we may get to see it up close and personal. That would be cool!

thanks for the kind words guys. chsabang, my door is always open for fellow car guys, stop by the shop anytime and say hi. the next plan of attack is to jamb out the body this weekend. i'm kinda leaning towards putting the dash back in it and wiring it before i put the doors on it. then i'll jamb the hood, trunk, fenders, and doors and get them hung back on the car and make sure the gaps are all good. i'm a wacko when it comes to clean gaps, but everything should line up with no issues before final paint. i'll post more pics as the progress continues. thanks again, eddie.

been working a little more on the car, had the pinstriper (ray benson) come by and do the rear speaker shelf, masked it all up, and got some color on the jambs and qtrs. with some candy edged, so we can start hanging the sheet metal back on the car once their edged out. some pics. thanks, eddie.
