I'm in the planning stage on my 28tudor build.. Want to run something traditional (won't be a SBC) with some decent horsepower. Definitely want to go with something "cool" , but with a budget in mind. Could end up being a flatty.. Who knows.. it's all up in the air right now. Just wanted to take a poll on what some other people are running to get the wheels turning.. OEM motors aside

I actually bought the 8 BA and T-5 trans and then found the Model A to use with it.

If that doesn't work out there is a Desoto Hemi in the milkhouse waiting for something to go in someday.

Mine has a 302 Ford. Ran for a long time with a C4 trans, more recently went to an AOD. The overdrive allows a shorter rear gear while still being able to roll easily on the highway.

Chevys not tradional? I guess their popularity was an accident. I understand wanting to be different, my last truck had a Y Block with a weiand dragstar and 6 Strombergs. My latest is a 1957 283/Speed Gems adapter/39 ford trans/Fenton 3x2 w/Strombergs. Not trying to start a fight but what's not tradional about this?
