Isky's ride and Norms. Perfect examples.

Just felt an urge to put this one up -- I don't think I've posted this on the HAMB before.

I really want to, have for years. What are the dates for the LARS next year? The paint is fairly shiny....needs to be buffed out again, but when it is...it looks like an 60 year old paint job :D

I agree outside would be the best....though inside would be awesome too. I prefer outside as I love to talk to people and fire it up occasionally.....and just watch the crowds pour in :D

I really want to talk with Isky about the early days...the "gowjob" era when they were building cars like mine.

I love this car..... I never get tired of the detail and flawless execution.

Thanks. All credit for the execution goes to Larry Mitchell, from whom I bought the car. All I changed were the windshield, wheels and front tires, and added the striping.

Any more pics of this car? More info?

Somehow just discovered this thread and haven't had time to look at all the posts but looks like a treasure-trove for ideas. Thanks.

  7. That's "Sunkist" by Randy Bianchi. It's been in a lot of magazines over the years. Bianchi also helped Willy Donato build the even more wild "Moonkist".

Now, see, if I was my grandfather we'd be arguing right now that I indeed do know it all...:D I come from a long line of stubborn people with way too much loose knowledge! Thank you very much for catching that though, that way I won't make the same mistake twice.

Here is one I built for a friend a few years ago, I made the chassis and the steel body.

I know what you mean and that really isn't what I'm about. My T isn't a show car, not really my thing. I don't mind paying a few bucks as long I am welcome and can have a good time. Outside seems like my kind of place.

We shall see what next year brings....have a few trips I want to make.

I would certainly make a point to meet up with Isky, he is one of my heros and inspirations ( for my T as well).

I'm sure you will have fun at LARS wherever you park. Put it on your "bucket list".

yes a clear case of 'missing the better story'
I would pay money to see your palimpsest T over a lollipop rod any day but each to their own.

Oh it is for sure....from all the event coverage I have seen here it looks like a hell of a party :D

Agreed and exactly how I see it. I do admire and respect those show cars....the time and art that went into them! But I do seem to fall harder for cars like the little T in my garage....that
Sort of thing just calls to me :)

I've been a fan of this car for years. So cool. This one and blue glass bucket, also from England, are two of my favorites.

  20. I vote for '46 Ford taillights to replace the Vega units. Vega? Really? :p

I am amazed that you know the car. It did get featured in UK mags a few times at various stages. I built it at a time when it was almost impossible to get stuff from the USA. (Well for us as young guys with not much money) I made every bracket and fabricated the body and chassis from scratch. I had never seen a real model T at that time.
The bulge over the carbs was a challenge in the steel bonnet.

The blue glass bucket- did it have white scallops on the front ?

Not unless it's been painted. This is the other UK car that turns my crank.

How about one of the "Special" going to Bonneville last year.

    Night Before we left.

Wished it would have stayed together and made it to Bonneville. Broke the crank 5 miles after first picture was taken. MrmodelT and I are putting the new engine in now.
