It would have been better with you there. I didn't get to the whole show, having a booth and the sheer mass of people that I knew at the show put time at a premium.

I just looked at my photo site and by the end of today which is exactly 3 years to the day from starting that site the photos have been viewed 9,000,000 times. I'm completely overwhelmed at how many people have seen them.

More coming on this thread as soon as I get back to the house.

    Once again, awesome pics, Travis!!

I always look forward to your coverage, none better.

I don't know how I didn't make it there, living just down the road. Too much family stuff goin on, I guess.

  3. Thanks Travis! I had hoped to be there this year, but no luck. And wouldn't you know, the temps were less than a million. :(

You're welcome my friend. Thanks for bringing out kool rides for us all to enjoy. How'd Lucas do in the Stude in the rain? He looked pumped/anxious when I said see ya.

I was running around with my head cut off for most of the weekend. I just did the math, all in all the weekend cost me $40 plus food and gas for 200 miles roundtrip from my home. The booth almost broke even, maybe next time...

So glad you could make it down for a bit, I'll see you down the road my friend.

Don's 53 is one I always love to see rolling into a show because it carries a great family that are a lot of fun to hang out with.

One of the cleanest Chevy's around the area these days.

Jack's 51, the build includes a ton of work by my friends at Chaotic Customs and interior by Fast A.L.'s Upholstery
    [IMG]

The Trixie Tee, look for a feature on this car in the coming months.

Hub and Gloria Harness in their 1959 El Camino, the car was built in 83 for about $4k and it's never been changed. Still looking good today.

Chris and Karma Carlson own this 60 Pontiac named Stella and they also own Chaotic Customs in Mulvane, KS.

    Travis...

Great seeing you again, amigo ! Glad you had a steady stream at your booth...cool pix, each-and-every-one !

I drooled over this Merc all weekend ! In-person it was flawless. Johnny D' thought it was cool too. The paint, the chrome, the interior, just perfect. So smooth, so clean, just perfect. It needed nothing. Well, okay, maybe it did need a map to my garage come to think of it !:D

    Travis...

This Caddy was parked a few cars away from the above Merc and was another of my favorites.

I've always been a sucker for the '48-'49 Cad Sedanette's...and, again, this one was perfect ! Saw it last year, didn't have to look far to find it this year...it was right next to the KC Slammer's Model Booth & the Celebrity Tent.

Another case of "drool" as this is another ride that, if you owned it, you wouldn't mess with it. Just get in, shut the door, turn the key, and, can someone say "ROAD TRIP" real loud ?! (Remember the Hot Rod Mag. "Cadzilla" Road Trip about 20 years ago ? Nothin' wrong with doin' one in 2013 !)

Jonnie, Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule at the show to stop and talk and then here to go through my threads. I really do appreciate it. There's never enough time at the shows, hopefully one day we can sit down and have a proper BS session. Thanks for all that you do to keep the kustom world in the know on all that's going on and so many great stories from the past!

(Awwwwwww Jonnie, how can a guy like you say that.....??? Everything needs a bit of kustomizing, including that Caddy...!!! FWIW, I have a '48 Sedanet in my shed that'll roll into my garage after the '60 Chevy wagon my bro and I are putting together) ,
Yep, remember it well...and right now Dan and I are in our Cadillacs (his '54 and my '55) on a three week trip to the Northwest...we started at a small rod run in western Nebraska, then drove to Regina, Canada and met a bunch of Canadians on the Western Canada Power Cruise...we took Trans-Canada highway one and visited Calgary, Canada, Kamloops, BC, Seattle, Washington, and the GoodGuy's Puyallup event (2700 cars there). Monday morn we left and toured Mt. Ranier and Mt. St.Helens (the volcano) and are now in Astoria Oregon and are heading for the Columbia River gorge...We found another rod run in West Yellowstone this coming weekend and are heading for there...over 2800 miles so far...should have over 4000 by the time we get home...road trips in old Cadillacs are funnnnnnn...!!!

The Jetters know how to travel in style. FWIW it was 62 degrees at the KKOA on Sunday my friend. Finally broke that heat!

I need to get the full story on this car, as I remember it, it's been under construction for years, originally was chopped in CA in the 50's or 60's? I'll find out and report back.

Doug, this morning I'm in Portland, Oregon...yesterday the high was 82 degrees...IF you can call that heat, then yes, I took it with us...!!! Actually our whole trip so far has been cool weather wise (but no rain)...nothing like Kansa heat and humidity!!!

Heading for Boise today...it's supposed to be warmer inland.

Larry Wolfe's 1965 Pontiac Catalina, orginally customized by Dave Stuckey in the 60's and recently returned to Wichita. I hear it will go under a rebuild to put it back in the form that it last left Stuckey's shop in.
