I managed to get my car together just in time for my planed trip to Deuce Days in Victoria this past weekend. This was the maiden trip for the car only have driven it a few Kms. I was only up till about 2am on Thursday night finishing up the interior. I still needs a little work but for the most part it looks Ok. I gave it a quick cleaning, packed My wife and kids in the car and left to meet a friend of mine, his wife and kid and his Mom and Dad Friday morning and headed for the ferry. In the ferry line up. Went to the Poker Run Saturday morning. I could have crashed into a Deer but I saw it coming. That was fun. We had a good time till we came to the final meeting place and my car left a GIANT puddle of oil under it. It looks like the rear main seal gave up. I would have taken more pics but I was too busy finding some oil and stressing about my car. Made it to the show Sunday at about 6am. Took a few pics before it got really busy. Lots of cool cars, about 150 from California, a hand full from Texas a couple from North Carolina and a few other states too.
Great pics. I visited there, when I was in the Navy back in '92. One of the most beautiful cities I had the chance to see.
Last few. In the ferry line up on the way home after the show. Made it home Sunday night after stopping a few times to add some more oil and once cause my Wife was afraid the car was on Fire. Oil was getting on to the exhaust pipe. But we made, had great time and can't wait to do it again!!
Your car looked pretty darn nice to me (other than it looks like your parking spot may have been under a nest of birds!) [/IMG]
Is that 'more pics of both your cars'? Look here for mine. http://jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=697996 I think it is the rear main. I'll have it on a hoist next Monday and I'll find out for sure.
Thanks Damn Birds. It did make me glad I didn't spend the show sitting on a lawn chair behind my car. They would have got me too.
Thanks for the cool coverage. Glad to see you got your car buttoned up and logging some miles on it! This is on my to-do list Any chance you got a picture of the green pickup beside the blue 3W Deuce 9 pictures up^?
No I did not get a good one, but it was this one from Bruce's Rod Shop. In Texas! http://www.brucesrodshop.com/
Thanks kan't spell I thought that might have been the one I saw all their trucks in Austin. Love their work
Thanks can't spell (sp? sorry couldn't resist!). Glad you made it home and hope that the problem is easily repaired. Nice car by the way. Some great shots, beautiful cars in a beautiful city. Been wondering how the ferry trip over was, any issues loading or unload?
Great pics. Thanks for posting. Nice looking car you got there. More importantly.... you got in front of Johnny in the ferry line up. lol
Your Dad has a nice car!! I got to the show at 7:30 when there was only about 1000 people there. Perfect for taking pictures but I was so interested in looking that I didn't take many. The ones posted are as good as mine or better. It is always a great show.
