So I finally found a coupe, a 29, want some inspiration, so post em up, I would really like to see a 28-9 coupe with 30-31 grille shell
Then why does everyone opt for the 32 shell that's so played out? I mean I have 3 29 shells, but I have a damn nice 30-31 shell that I was thinking about usingt
You know what's played out? Shitty looking half-assed cars. Deuce shells are not played out. They look good, end of story. If I put a 29 shell on my car, it would look like a horse's ass. I'm talking for my car, not yours. If you have a nice 31 shell, and can plan a cool car around it, go for it. But don't limit yourself from a 32 shell just because of the played out card. That card doesn't exist in our world. Thank you sir. I'm having a lot of fun with it, but I think it's time to wrap things up and paint it.
One of my old coupes and a couple of inspiration links... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=762959 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=795932 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=732709
Dreddybear, no need for all the hostility. 32 shells look good everybody knows that, that's why every body uses them. I just wanted to try something different. And further more, I hope the comment about half assed cars wasn't directed at me, because as of right now I don't even have a car, just a frame. Besides aren't people supposed to build their car the way they like it? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
There's no hostility man. That was pointed towards all the dudes out there that literally go half assed on their cars and then try to explain it away. Its happening more and more. Just so happens I was on this thread when I felt the need to vent. Sorry. I was at an event today with 3000 cars. Guess how many traditional model a's I saw with deuce grills? 1
Well I didn't mean to come off as sounding like I didn't think it looked good. I like deuce grilles, I just wanted to do something I hadn't really seen. I mean you have an amazing coupe and I hope when I do mine it looks half as nice as yours. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Here's mine, 29 grille shell, because everyone runs a 32 grille shell. It's been on the road 12 years now.
Heres mine, mostly traditional build to resemble mid 50s hot rod, 46 flatty, 3spd topload trans, banjo rear, bendix brakes up front. Hope you like.
