They're all pretty good sports, although it was probably worse when I was "port matching" the intake at 7 a.m.

Thanks guys! Yes, there is an article in Aug. issue of Street Trucks mag. Old info there though. Better numbers are coming in a couple of weeks.

BTW not that there is anything wrong with Modesto but I'm from Visalia.

That truck is so so fine! I'm a lil bias but someday hopefully mine shines up as nice! Keep up the great work!

 

I had almost forgot my 62 , it was the same color turquose blue &white the only thing that bugged me was hoe bad it rattled I drove it for a couople of years and traded up to a 66 F-100 and that was a better truck, 352 4 on the floor I loved that old girl but trucks go by the way, I only have room for 1 at a time now I'm working on a 58 F-100 shorty, 350 chev motoer with 350 trans, disk brakes up front and almost ready for some new windows one step at a time. jimd4j

Humm with a roll cage, a little bit of work some graphics and wa la call it 417

 

Tim,,,great stuff. What is the weight diff. with aluminum heads?
Do you foresee any handling difference at Speed?,,, Ride hite',,,,jus' wunderin,,,

 

Maybe bolt the iron heads to the rear axle to hold those tires down to the salt and keep the wheels from spinnen.

 

along with all those sbc blocks in the bed........

 

I don't see there being enough difference to make handling issues. I didn't weight the heads but the truck sits the same. Not like my old FE powered Fairlane, you take the heads and intake off that thing and it sat like the engine was out.

Ran a set of CP's and was one of the finest looking pistons I've ever put in an engine. Run Diamond now.....16:1 (static) sbc @ 803 hp on Alky @ 7,600 rpm.
Fantastic info and advice...my 2nd ring gap (total 3mm) is .023 bigger with a compression chamber between ring lands. Works fantastic !

 

All washed and waxed! Packing up, leave for the salt in two days. See you all there!
