Features Does anyone actually use their hot rod truck?

Oh for sure, use it all the time. Great truck to take to the grocery store or Home Depot. Hauled some tires & wheels out to North Bend Wa on Interstate 90 recently to meet up with CHRIS.

 

Sure it get used like a light duty truck. I would use it even more but in Wisconsin running collector plates, we can only haul 500# only and I've been warned already so I don't push it anymore.

 

I don't have pictures and i don't have a pick-up, but i used my model A tudor! before i had glass or interior i put lumber/ trim boards thru the back window, compressor, miter saw and away i'd go

 

Picking up some fire wood for our weekend trip to big bear in the old 48..

Built this '56 dodge out of a junkyard back in 1996 and drove nothing else for over 8 years. It's been to Alaska and back, on Americruise,to Lincoln Nb, and on many trips around the western US and Mex. We're planning a trip back to Ohio and WV in July 2013 .

I have put 60,000+ miles on my F1 since 2003.

Looks like the Atlas Lathe I brought home years ago. Still going strong for small jobs. Got me out of the woods many times on projects.

 

That's if I can get my lazy ass in gear and ever finish the truck!

FINALLY! I can post a picture of our '48 Diamond T, with the Spartan Manor on the hitch. We plan LOTS of miles this summer with that rig.

im in the process of trying to build a hot-rod work truck.... as in 3/4 ton-1ton work truck beefy & big enough to carry furniture for moving/ a whole swap meet of car parts, etc. I've been thinking of building a 50's-60's truck cab gas-station theme'd flatbed using an 1970's-1980's 3/4-1ton 2wd chassis......does anyone know of 1967 & below truck cab's that will fit on the above mention'ed chassis? I came across an an 58-59 ford cab that seems to be close to the same width as an 70's truck. I measured an 48-53 chevy cab & 48-52 ford cab( they seemed a little short on the width.) any suggestions?

Been my daily work truck for last 10 years full of paints, tools etc and on weekends full of firewood, dirt bikes etc etc.

Used to grocery shop with my last one all the time, mainly just so I could go for a ride, lol. I suspect my A pickup will see the same use.

 

I use my '57 crew cab Ford almost daily. I haul kids to school, boat, trash, ass, whatever. Oldest son and I drove it on the Hot Rod power tour this summer, 3,000 miles.

 

ive owned a few trucks in my life and i used them like a truck. some were nicer looking than the others but still a truck.

 

Yes, its got a plywood bed in the back so doesnt get damaged carting car parts, and we took a bunch of branches and vines to the greenwaste dropoff at the weekend.

And the dude beside us at the greenwaste dropoff was in an old F250 4wd.

 

I installed tie downs in the floor and the box sides are starting to get the "lived in look"

 

If hauling all my swap meet parts counts as using it. HRP

 

I used this truck for last winter to haul parts and to get me through my first northern winter... I think it mostly scared all the yuppies in their Prius's driving downtown Madison around college town and the capitol to pick up old motorcycle parts.

A little over 2500 miles in two weeks, pulling the Spartan Manor, on the Lincoln Hwy. Tour with the Tin Can Tourists earlier this summer.

When I saw this thread, I thought of your thread and all the shit you got. Real hot rodders get it done, then worry about legal, kosher, ethics, falling skies, etc!
