    HA HA

    :)
Y-Block only... although I love Y-Blocks... an FE is destined.

    :)

    see below.

    Exactly!:)

    427.... a big dream..

    :)

Thanks Bro... hope to see or run into you sometime soon.

Not a lot by the way of pics...but here is a few...
I won't start until the fall... but since it's been in hibernation down South... I have collected all the parts I need.

I would LOVE a 427 side oiler..... but they are not falling out of trees.

Lots of parts to dig thru...

    All good.. no rot.

    I just love this......

I am using a 58 Ford column and Box(smaller) better) but I still don't think I can use the great factory headers .... need to think that one out.

I can see it now......factory black and white, black steel wheels with poverty caps, a healthy 406 with 3 deuces and a 4 speed.

If you're going to have a Ford that's the one.

  9. Im surprised, from other threads on these Fords I was sure you would go all black, black wheels, small caps and the other side trim (sorry not up on the exact model). But with your other rides and incredible artistic ability I'm sure whatever you end up with it will be very cool.

I have been resisting the urge to buy a solid black version of your car, a granny-car found in the garage of a house a friend of mine bought. You aren't helping.

StNick had an awesome build thread about his 57 Ford. Even the same color.

Someone had a really nice one at the Round-up this year. All black, mostly stock from what I could tell. Those cars look sooo cool when done right. They don't need much! Cant wait to see more pics!

  21. Sleeper? Then don't do evil-looking all-black paint, use one of the 'cheerful' color combos like blue/white or the seldom-seen green/white. These cars looked great with almost any two-tone color combo, nose/deck, put on a set of chrome/baby moons and have a period-perfect mild custom. I'd go with an easier-to-find 428 (hey, it's a FE, who can tell without a NHRA-style teardown?) in CJ trim dressed as a vanilla 390, four-speed, and 3.50 rear gears for a tire-melting good time....

Walt Austin has an all-black version of your car in his shop, and while it just oozes 'don't mess with me', the SOHC under the hood backs it up....

  22. Jeff....happy to see a start on it, and I was glad I got to see it first hand at Bob's. Are you still looking for that rear window ss top piece? I may be stopping in on a friend this week that has, at last count, 82 '57 fords. Send me a pm at '57fordsforever if you are. I won't post any pics of mine on this thread, you've seen 'em and, LOL, I don't need the bs for not being traditional. I've got mine all ready for the drivetrain, and as soon as I can get a break from house rebuilding I'll be "dropping in" my ot Ford motor and tranny.

  26. Russ..Next time your in Lubbock..there is a small town called Knox City due east of Lubbock, and due north of Abilene. At the center of town is a small private, but open to the public, museum called '57 heaven. Glen is a '57 Ford fanatic. He's the one I mentioned in an earlier post had at last count 82 '57 Fords. There's usually 8 or 10 at his museum. I don't want to post his Number publicly without asking him, but he has always told me to call before going down. He doesn't have set hours or days at the museum, he's just open when "he gets there". Pm me and I'll get you his phone number if your headed this way.

I don't blame you. My boss has one, been sitting on a stand for 4+ years...he knows what its worth and likes to make profit on anything he can, but I could always ask the pricetag :D

    I love the plan

This is a car I dearly screwed up on by letting it go.
One of the few I really should have kept. ....a basic 300.
