    You are correct, hit Catholic Relief Office, part of the plane hit the elevator cable, elevator fell 79 floors, the elevator operator, Betty Oliver, survived...not sure if he had a load of generals, there were 4 crew members, but the rest is spot on.

    The placement of the "TiltaWhirl", Merry Go Round and arcade as well as the "Jack Rabbit" all seem to be correct for that. When I was about 8 my mom gave me some cash to take my 7 and 6 year old sisters and myself to the dentist (about a 4 mile walk). Instead, I took them here for the day.

    On the B-25s...I have an old book called "WHIP" by Martin Caidin published in 1976 that is a fictionalized account of a real bomb group that flew these planes. As I recall the book was pretty good and looks like it goes into a fair amount of technical details and oeprational aspects. Don't know if it's still available or how accurate it is, but for those that might want a little more information on these planes it might be worth the read.

    As stated above it is temporary sealant. Some upgrades were sent out to already operational units to be installed in the field.
    These boxes are sealant around additional armour that was sent out to be fitted to ground attack aircraft to more adequately protect the pilot and co-pilot.
    The fairings can be seen better on the large pictures of the ground attack B-25J-11 above(Well the -11 is a guess, it could be from either 11, -17, -22, -27, -32, or -37 depending on what build block the airframe was modified from.)
    I had a serious thing for ground attack B-25s when I was a kid!

    Sad huh!!:eek::rolleyes:

    Doc.

    Maureen O'Hara in "McLintock". I'm watching "The Great Escape" instead. Getting my McQueen fix.
