I finished the new trans x-mbr install and got the driveshaft put in after re-balancing. No more nasty vibration! So now I plan on driving it a bit more. Next I am looking into converting the 700r4 from elec speedo to mechanical. Also I need to get new tailgate cables and all that jazz working. Carpet etc also and redo the exhaust. Plus a ton of other little stuff.
Your gonna get all "fat and sassy " now, after riding in that 64 convert and the tiny A coupe, no hair blowing around and your knees wont be in your face!!!!!!!! All jokes aside 50s and 60s cars are a great size and just pretty darn good cruisers.As a young kid, 55-57 chevys were what we had and looking back now, I remember destroying several pretty good examples, what can I say? 55-57s are just one of those cars, that I will always like.And a wagon is just a great version of them, yours looks good, enjoy!

Last night I had a few minutes between softball tournament and chores to hook up a sound system for a dry run. I had an old Pyramid 100w 2 channel amp and two speakers a buddy gave me out of a junk pickup and an sub from another buddy. I ran the ipod into the amp and powered everything up. Sounds pretty good, so now I need to hard wire everything up.
i think that arrangement is gonna make it hard to see while you're driving. you might consider a different speaker placement pattern.
oh, that'll help for sure. then maybe just some brackets screwed into the top of the fenders to hold the speakers on there. perfect.
Don't forget to screw on some huge rear view mirrors to the back of those speakers...better yet, go to the local furniture store and get some full length dress mirrors...mount 'em sideways...!!! R-
That would make a great commuter car. The hard part would be to find a speaker? I did get the amp and speakers in my wagon all wired in last night. Sounds pretty good I think.

This past weekend I fabbed up a hidden receiver hitch. I plan on adapting a spring loaded license plate hanger, so when you flip up the plate, you can slide in a 2" receiver hitch. The bracket bolts to the bumper and frame. the L2x2x1/4 picks up the two lower bolts for the bumper guards and I notched the bottom of the rear C crossmember, and the 1/4 plate bolts to that. I will need a lighter trailer or flat-tow it. Or a late 60s GM? I just need to look at one and see if it'll work.
Last night I got the parklight housings installed. I had to adapt some old trailer sockets I had since a po had spliced in a more modern socket. I'll need to get the grillbar harness.
