So, I bought this cab a while back on the classifieds and cleaned out my garage and found enough crap to build a 1935 Ford "Rudy Truck".

The cab was already chopped by the world famous Kenny "Choprods" Baker. If you don't know who he is, you newbs need to search him out.

As some of you know, I bought a '34 Ford coupe and the frame under it was less than desirable, so I straightened it out and used it on this truck project.

I got it in the garage and gave it a nip here and a tuck there.

Is the bed gonna dump or did it just fall off in the last picture?

I squared the shitty old frame up and hacked off most of the sin. The previous owner didn't do it any favors. The only thing I used were the rails and the old chrome f100 steering box. I boxed it and added new crossmembers and pinched it a bit in the front.

The truck is fuschia and teal green. Of course the bed is gonna dump. It is getting some splash graphix too.

Closed up some of the proportions a bit. Short wheelbase is the key, not some stretched out abortion with enough room to put 2 motors between the front axle and the firewall.

I think that's a pretty cool truck. I like the whole thing, including the short wheelbase too. I'm subscribing to see the progress. Have you decided what color you'll eventually paint it?

Shit man that looks really good!!! It's like you took all the shit that Rat Rodder's like to use or find and gave them a lesson in proportion and restraint (unlike your beer budget). That thing RULES!!!!!

This shot does it for me. That tight wheel base is killer.

As for color, I am going to stay with the Jesus technicolor look. I will probably just sell it anyway to free up some cash for my other projects, and I hear all of the kids these days love those rat rods. I pretty much lost all motivation to work on hot rods for a while so it was all I could do to get it to this stage. My yard looks pretty bitchin' though!

Looking good ,just get it drivable and cruise ......jones

  30. That´s a really neat little truck. Pity that so many people haven´t a clue about proportion when they take on something like this. It´s not like it costs any more, or is harder to build than some stretched out abomination.
