The door is original. The wood sideboards had to be redone.

Two layers are visible on this Diamond T. The quality of the lettering suggests that the earlier owner took a little more pride in his fleet. And why wouldn't he? A farmer driving an expensive Diamond T pickup in Centralia, Missouri would have been rare, due to the opulent cost of these trucks in 1947.

Interestingly, a friend owns a top-of-the-line '47 Packard that originally came from Centralia. It is a pretty small, rural town for such fancy vehicles.

The right side shows two layers[IMG], too, but the bottom one is different: KIRBY of Moberly, Missouri.

  5. I got a link kicked off here , I had some very cool pics of scoops and fabbed valve covers . no pics of cars, the link I was adding to was , 'show us your cool engines' the moderator said , "NO rat rod stuff". you could not see anything but the engine in pics. This thread has dozens of Rat rod pics ... very cool stuff ...

    so where is the balance????

I do all different genres of cars old school, traditional , shiny , and rusty , and everything in between.. I own over 65 rigs between 1917 and 72 , I do ALL my own work . I mean ALL, paint , body, design , frame fab, engine builds , ... EVERYTHING !!! This comment will probably be deleted , too. But, love ' em or Hate ' em, ALL genres have great people in their ranks. and gets them off(on) the streets , and off drugs. MY opinion!,

Just finished doing my lettering last week. I've never done this before, so used an outline stencil to help me keep things from getting out of hand. It was fun to do, and I'll add some other things later. I'll probably wet sand it a little to help match the Falcon's patina.

Mark Brodie, a very talented painter and striper here in Phoenix painted and then distressed some door lettering to match the 49 year old patina of my 64 C20.

The '55 looks good. Hopefully they'll have it at the vintage drags @ commerce in Sept. I will be there!

Fairlane gets questions every time I get it out ... still fake's them out!

    Nice job.

Biggo, how come the lettering is only in English? I thought signs down there had to be bilingual?
