I assume this has happened to many on the forum. Saturday night at 9:00 PM.....debris in road. One tire ruined and will need some body work. Shit happens.
Actually dealing with it is traditional and is something probably every car guy has had to do at least once in his life.
I went through last two years of high school.....'66 & '67 without a spare but had a jack. Yeah I got room for a spare.......took many road trips without issues. What show?
The car looks pretty clean so I figured it sometime sees the occasional show. Sounded like a good excuse for no spare to me.
Gotcha ........do more cruising than shows. They're too time consuming. The battered tire will serve as a new spare. My wife......in her wisdom........pointed out that it would probably be handy if I had tires all the same size.
Yep! I gotta jack up the rear of the frame in addition to getting the wheel off the ground so I can get the fat tire out of the wheel well. Nobody ever said Hot Rods were easy...
Driving without a spare tire is like having sex without protection. You might get by with it many times but it only takes one time to have a big problem. Even if you're going to a show, the spare can be removed from the trunk.
All my cars have a tool box, spare tire (WITH air in it ), a jack and a fire extinguisher.........because I don't own a cell phone.
I was 80 miles from home this morning when the right rear tire came apart. Put the spare on and kept moving
Out of town tonight ......as usual........but Towel City Tire really came through. Herb sent these tires out on Monday and they showed this afternoon. My son stopped by and took this pic. Can't wait to get home and get 'em mounted..........also thinking about ordering up some chrome reverse to mount them on later.
so, you guys must be working out and all have six packs. I carry my spare tire with me everywhere I go.
Yea it's hard when a tire comes apart. I've driven on a tire with a nail in it for a week just airing it up every day. Since the particular size i had wasn't available anywhere except by mail order. Sent from my Verizon 4G LTE smartphone
