It has a 350 engine with a mild cam.
A 350 trans (2500 stall speed converter). Monte Carlo rear with a 3:55 ratio.
Power disc front brakes.
Ron Francis wiring. Remote doors with power bear claw latches. Tilt wheel. American Mag Torque Thruster 2s.
California smoothie bumpers
Rebuilt stock front end
Body and paint are perfect.

I never understand with the upteen amount of cool steering wheels, inexpensive ones to boot, why a crappy steering wheel from a chevette ends up being the first choice or whatever it is.

I see maybe $6500 there. imo

clean car, painted grill and headlight rings takes away from it. Also no trim could be reduce value (but that is up to your liking) around here that is a 13,500 to 16k car thou an owner might ask closer to 20k

you could not build it for under 25k - 30k I am guessing unless you did paint and interior yourself.

$6500 gets you a stocker needing work (if you can get cars like that in FL for 6500, I am flying down and buying one or two so I can flip them up here)

 

It looks better than my 50 and I would laugh at 6,500. That wheel looks like a 90 something truck. I would change it when I could.

 

In my opinion, you can't buy anything that looks good and runs for less than $15000

Ive got the same wheel in my 87 blazer, i like some shiny on my cars. I wouldnt go any more than 9000

I would say $18 - 20K. I wouldn't take less than $25K for mine.

 

That looks like a nice start for sure. The major mods have been done and if the reliabilty factor is there that is more than half the battle. The mods I would prefer are actually cheap. Steel wheels and caps, drop the rear a touch. Change out the mirrors and steering wheel. and finish off with some clean striping???? Just a thought

Well if it were mine and for sale, I would surely want north of $15,000. I do believe this car can easily ask that. I have a feeling you did a bit better than that? Like Boones has already said you can't built this for under $20,000.

Eh, if you could come up with the stocker cheap that needed no body panels replaced, you could probably build it for 10K on used parts. But you'd have to do all the labor. If you paid 10-15K you probably did well enough. Less and you stole it.

 

$15-20,000 would be a good deal, anything less than that and you must have worn a mask and carried a gun

 

I sold it to that sucker for 32k! Just kiddin.....I'm thinking 12,999.99, and not a penny more.

 

I see probably twice that amount. Let me know when you want to sell your car. I'll gladly pay half price.

lmao...I'm guessing he prolly paid too much - since he hasn't responded yet. Really not a lot of expense there for a do-it-yourselfer. Those vintage chevys are a dime a dozen down here in texas and the weeds are still full of em too.

 

Yeah, I want to retract my near 13k estimate. It's a 51 chevy for crying out loud! To pay 10k or more would be foolish.

I like the whole car as is, but would probly change a few things if it were mine.
Don't matter what you paid if you're happy with the deal.

 

You're asking guys who usually build their own, not buy them. If you asked the guys in lawn chairs at a car show you will get a different answer. Either way I like the car, less steering wheel, the wheels won't get much love here but they look good on the car. Drive it and enjoy, if you paid too much, go block sand something and you'll realize your money spent was worth it

 

A 50+ year old 2 door anything with perfect body and paint has to be worth a fair amount of money....but the point of this thread is lost on me....
