Make sure you bend your steering arm so the draglink is parallel with the frame. You can move the top shock mount up 3" inches and use stock shocks or invest n some high quality lowered shocks Billstein etc... You can also cut down the bump stops.

As long as you invest in quality shocks and elimante bump steer you should have a good riding truck

  2. Yeah, the steering arm is modified and the drag link is parallel, it's ALL spherical ball ends. Pretty trick set up! I'll post pics tonite. I really don't want to raise the motor and trans but I have clearance issue w the headers too.

Since you don't see the suspension on these trucks, I would recommend using a MII if you can swing the cost. I love mine....

You shouldn't have any clearance issues. My buddy Jamies truck is lwered the same way witrh exception of only one leaf removed and he has plenty of clearence for the 292

  7. HMMM...
To be honest, I think my new motor mount bushings should make the axle clear. The big problem is the tie rod, its bigger than stock and sits below the second hump in the oil pan. I cant drop the tie rod any further without getting into the tire.

Well she arrived last night right on time...great shipper.

1960 Crew Cab out of AZ. Believed to be an old Air Force truck, but I have done no searching on her yet. She needs some work, but very solid, and I would bet I could get her running and driving pretty easy.

They definitely look better with the short wide box. However, the stepside was cheaper, so that's how they came. Just found another cab in a wrecking yard, might have to build a crew cab car hauler to haul my crew cab pickup.

  14. Matt, I received the pair of caps...they look awesome! Top quality, great detail. Long overdue items for the aftermarket. I highly recommend them.

Todd, Glad you like them. It took almost 2 years to make the whole project happen but it was well worth the wait. I couldn't be happier with the finished product. Thanks again for your support!

My truck is an F250. Hope it's OK to put a picture in this thread. This one has a Mercury engine and automatic transmission.

Also, here is a picture of another "before" utility body truck that lives out at OERM which has a straight six and three on the floor.

Those both look nice. What powertrain does the '59 have--straight six and three on the column? Or have you pepped it up?

This is my 1960 118" that I'm going through. I hope to have it on the road shortly. It was barn fresh and needed everything, but it's a good project. It's a shame the pinstripe whitewalls are too dangerous to risk driving on. They look awesome.
