Happy Fathers Day. I get to work on the bed for a bit today before the big Fathers Day dinner. Sandblasted and painted the wheel, scrubbed the tire and white wall, sandblasted and painted the chain for the tailgate, and did some more sanding on the bed side.

Had to put the one bed side on the house so it would not get rained on. Econoline has the garage full. Added some license plated to the siding to give it some color, and got some more painted. Getting closer.

That's a good point. How are you going to ground them? They're going to want to stay in their rooms...

Dont worry, they know when they are in trouble...

Got his old bed out, and got the new bed in. Still have some painting and trim to do, but he spent his first night in it last night, and it was a hit.

I am looking. Would make it sweet. Could take a pretty rusted up one...I could have bought him a pretty fancy bedroom set for the money I have in this one now...I guess I am teaching him the first lesson about Hot Rodding, everthing you do cost twice what you think...

Got the rest of the painting done, and hung some signs. I did find a cab from a 56 Ford F100 that is in pretty rough shape. Im gonna cut the back off, and narrow it 12 inches and bolt it to the wall.

That is awesome. I'm sure you've inspired a lot of dads into dragging rust metal in the house.:D Thanks!

  20. Yep I'm stealing the heck outta this idea when my little girl gets a bit older. Is it just a fullsize box springs and mattress?

Good Morning, thanks for the compliments. I had to narrow the box of the bed by 12 inches to get that mattress to fit in, I only used a twin. I did not really measure to see what I would have to do to put a full size in, his room was better off with a twin, especially with the fenders sticking out so far past the mattress...Good luck and if I can be of any help, please let me know.

Found the cab today, gonna cut the back 6 inches off of it for the headboard to the bed. Will have to narrow it about 5 inches also to match the bed.

Had to take 5 inches out of her so she would line up with the garage and the bed.

Got the cab (headboard) in place for Maxs bed. Fits nice, now I will take it back out, paint it to match the bed, and get a window in it.

Looks great! You could mirror the glass and put a LED TV behind it and no one would know it is there unless it is on...
