Probably picking up a 30 model A cabriolet

I am also getting all the hardware most of it re-chromed for the convertible top I am paying 16K for the A - too much??

The Stude has new interior 1 year old paint runs great!! Vintage air heat. 350/350/ 9" rear

 

A looks good in the photos BUT, check all the wood, sills are all wood so is all the framework. Bob

 

I would keep the Stude and I am a Model A guy.

 

I should be Ok - will double check this but he says
all steel reinforced body (all door wood etc has been removed), all steel floors have been rhinolined, frame is boxed, 8" ford rear 65 230 chevy motor, air cooled 2 speed trans

well...as I own a 46' Stude truck and have a few Studes and also a 1930 Cabroilet....if it's a even trade....go for the "A".....

 

That would be tough choice for me. I've always loved Model A's and have owned several, but that truck is cool! I do like the straight six in the '30 instead of the same ole same ole SBC that every other one seems to have. Hey, I get it. Cheap and accessibility to speed equipment, yadda, yadda, yadda...

 

Its not a cabriolet. Its a cut down cp, and probably not a nice cut from the looks of it.

 

I say keep the truck...its really cool....if the A was a roadster or even a coupe maybe....

16k seems high for what you got. I agree with what someone else said. It looks like a cut down coupe. For 16k I would keep shopping...... I like your truck by the way.

 

Wow if it is a cut down sport coupe I'm out - how do I tell for sure??

This is not a straight trade - I will sell the truck separately. Was curious what people thought it was worth Im thinking of asking 23K and seeing where it comes out. The A is a new project for me to screw around with using what ever I get above the 16K from the truck to do new wheels maybe a flat head V8 I don't know

 

Keep the Stude the A is crude at best

The reveals on the doors also show it is a cab and the dash pan
I am no A expert where are you guys am I right??

after a comment from seller about not thinking it was a good idea to make an 80 mile trip in the car, partly due to heat, and for other reasons ( I really like my truck) I decided to stay with the Stude

 

good move.

 

Windshield pins, door tops and quarters all look like 68B cabriolet to me. Not having any of the top pieces (like the triple hinge) would be a deal breaker for me. I like the Stude trucks as well...

 

Good move! Can a cabriolet guy tell me if the botton landau bar mount comes out of the body quarter panel or is it above the belt moulding? Bob

 

Bottom attaching point for landau bar is on a curved bracket that bolts on top of quarter.
