That is going to keep a few craftsman busy for a while! Interesting photograph, someone on here will have a history of this wreck with in, I would say, ten posts.
The So Cal streamliner crashed on Daytona Beach in 1951. Driver Bill Dailey rode out a series of 150 MPH endos, and survived. That was the end of the car. It was never rebuilt.
I knew it. Said we would have the history before the 10th post. Here we have Dean Lowe providing the commentary at post 7. This place amazes me, I just wish I knew something!
Today yes worth saving for sure, 1951 it was only worth scrap, hence that is what happened. The engine was given back to Vic Edelbrock, Mal Hooper bought the quickchange and Al Dal Porto bought the tires, the body and chassis was sold for scrap for a grand total of $4.

It was, especially since it crashed twice. Barrel-rolled earlier at El Mirage with Dean Batchelor driving when he got into a cross-wind...Dean got an ambulance ride, but survived with minor injuries, and the car got rebuilt....
I've survived some pretty nasty motorcycle mishaps, but a ride like that would have me afraid to get back in a car even to go to the grocery store!
