No I did not split time the spark. Supposedly the rotor is phased with a 5-degree split. Although on a distributor machine it does not appear to be sequenced any different.
It does however like a lot of timing for some reason, and although it is not normal it makes the most power with 36-degrees total lead.

To keep this thread alive, here's a picture of my roadster. It's as traditional as it gets. One thing I did wrong is put in a F1 crossmember and pedal.:( Oh well, too late now.

If you look on the race of gentleman thread you will see a lot of pictures of that car from when Mel owned it. Such an awesome roadster!

    Thanks for the comments.

I purchased the car from Mel (Race of Gentlemen). He built a racer out of the great body with cool history - I've been working to dial it in as a little more refined 40s styled rod. It's a blast.

I still don't know how I talked you out of it - just lots of begging I guess.

I'm having an absolute blast with it in both driving it and refining it. Hell, most of the time I do nothing with it other than sit in the garage and smile at it.

  19. Glad your enjoying it! Just about ready to get going on my 34 roadster. I plan to top the 32 so I feel better.

I've sat on the tire of this car at ROG. I could not believe Mel sold it but I'm so glad it went to someone that will enjoy the car. I really just don't see anything being better then this...
