Because I live in Midland Michigan. The home of Dow Chemical and Dow Corning.

My roadster is named Mortis. That is the name of the horse Death rides in a popular book series. This car has run over me three times, but she's getting better.
My 54 Chevy truck is the old grey mare, obviously.

I think most of what I have come up with would probably just get me banned but here's one from way back that was mine.

  14. A little bit of background, in Australia we had a Holden (GM) product in the seventies and eighties called the "Statesman" it was the long wheelbase luxo version of our local product. The front clip was interchangeable with other models.

A few years ago I had a one ton pick up with a '71 statesman nose cone, gts front guards (fenders) and statesman doors (for the electric windows)

I used to all it "Monica" - because it had a little bit of older statesman in it! :)

    - Pete.

  15. Btw Holden is (was?) exporting our current statesman to the US for use as police vehicles.

It may be OLD, but with it's new 12V system it's like an 80 year old man with a new pacemaker chasing a young skirt!!

  17. Yup, That's some of Josh Shaw's work.

Following along the "Chemical City" theme, Josh also painted up the gas tank for me.

He also did some subtle gild pinstriping on the car.

    He does awesome work!

My '66 F 100 is named Harriet. My wife called her that one day and I said "why, 'cause Harriet can carry it?" and the name stuck. She's not pretty yet, but she's a reliable work in progress. Also have a 1954 Packard Patrician (newly acquired, needs a lot of love) that is tentatively named Patty.

Most of the names I've called my vehicles have involved bloody knuckles and shouldn't be repeated.

  20. Mine are generally "flaming hunk of shit" as in "come on, start, you flaming hunk of shit" ...

I was either thinking like, Betty Lou Thema Liz, or like my grandfather would say yelling off of his front porch, Maria! It was funny, he called every woman Maria, "Come over here Maria and let me take a look at ya!'

I was so touched by the untimely death of a tv character that I had to name my car after him.

    His name is Merle.

My roadster is either "the roadster" or "the 27". My 51 chevy is "the 51" or "the chevy".

    I'm not very creative.

However, my 4 year old niece likes to ride in the "hot rod chebbie"

    Truck Norris.

Not mine, but I thought it was pretty clever. My friend is putting '92 Dodge diesel drivetrainunder this '72 Forest Service truck. It will be a junk hauler and shop truck.
