I know, I know... "do whatever you want.."

Well I want all of these colors, and cant decide which one to go with.

    So cast your vote!

Or... if you feel like some other color is just BEGGING to be on this car, let me know..

    Let your opinions loose!

I'm going for a simple, traditional, and elegant look... think Hollywood 1949

My car is black and I wish it was any thing else, I don't prefer dark colors, but that's just me.
how about a faded yellowish color , seen one a few days ago and cant get the color out of my head

I'd go Dk red but not as dark as you have displayed. Think late '40's Ford garnet red but a little darker......

  4. I vote dark blue.

There is something about that dark blue which has an elegance about it. It is also different from the norm.

I bet you are driving yourself nuts on what color to choose. I know how it is. By the way here's a couple more to ponder over. Ice Blue and Black Cherry Pearl

Root beer pearl. Nice gold pearl or metallic that lights up the body lines and the bubble of the skirt. Pinstripes must be added as well, but either gold or brilliant orange, or both, would finish it. I agree it needs dark, but sadly those solids look somber and tired in a slick lookin coupe like that. The lines demand to be highlighted. A tight sweater on a well endowed woman. You asked...

I like that deep red garnet-y color myself. That's the original color of my '47 Olds, but when it was repainted way back when, they changed it to this olive green, which I also like, and is an option no one suggested yet.

Just not black. I thought I wanted black on my 48 but its just too plain.
I like the smoke grey with the mile deep shine in your photo bucket. It looks like you wet the primer and snapped a pic real quick to get that effect but it looks really sharp.
Check out the color chart. The battleship grey metallic from 47 would be close.

I personally just like dark dark colors much more than lighter ones.

I agree, the reason the dark blue has been on my mind is because so few traditional customs go with blue.. most are reds or black.

I am driving myself insane! Its even worse now because the car is almost ready for paint. I think I decided to skip the 'satin shakedown' stage and go straight for high gloss.

Non metallic, non pearl single stage paint is what I'm going to go with no matter what.

I've considered a root beer, but I want to go with a simple understated single stage color. I'm not interested in adding any pinstripes or anything, I think they take away from the car.

I guess I have somber and tired taste :)

I voted you go with the deep dark blue. Classy.

  23. When I looked at the first picture I thought black was gonna be the way to go...Then I scrolled down to the second one and that dark red jumped out at me and captured my vote.

  24. Hey Aaron my vote is for the blue. I am think along the same lines for my truck so I am kind of biased(although I have changed my mind 500 times:eek:). Maybe we can make dark blue the new green.:D

Blue. Took me twenty minutes of staring at the pictures to decide and it's not even my car. Can't imagine the internal battle you have going on.

I voted for the dark blue, my grandfather's 48 Chevy's original color was very close, but I really like the cherry black suggestion as well.

  28. Yeah, that dark blue speaks to me; so much that I'm considering it on my '57.
