You will get a good story out of it, and that's worth something. And, yeah, I do know a guy who bought the house and got the car thrown in (cleanest 68 Fury 4dr you ever saw!)

I chased down a NOS Horn the the guy swore was a Model A....HE KNEW IT
WAS !!!! When I got there, and opened the original Ford Box.....he was wrong,
it was not Model A...just a damned old 32.....still hammered me on the price, so
had to give him the $25.00 he was asking....OF COURSE, THIS WAS 1974, in the
Outback of Australia....but it sure is a good memory...

    1959:
My pal Ted and I went to a friend's house that had been accepted to M.I.T.
His Mom was upset about the "Model A Ford" that he left in the garage, freshly painted but ALL apart.

We asked his Mom what the story was, she said her son just said "Sell it for whatever you think, Mom..."

She told us she'd open the garage, so we could see it..."but it's all in a big mess..."

Lo and behold...Fresh paint by one of the best in San Jose (Flyer's) Fenders hanging from rafters, body on blocks, frame...standing against the wall...engine/trans on a heavy wagon.
"Ted..." Ted's looking at all the beautiful maroon pieces...and the black Olds rear end, and the Moon Yellow Olds engine, with Hydro...
"TED!" He turns around, I stammer: "This Model A's a '32 five window..."

The guy's Mom said, "Two-seventy-five. I won't go any lower, I know he spent more than that on the paint job."

Ted and I were back at her house with the cash and his Dad's 1-ton inside of an hour.
We were true to our word: We got it out of there that day! (3 trips to Grandma's house, where it sat 'til Ted sold it to me!)

The chase is half the fun.

  6. The last "32 coupe" I was told about was for $1500 was 5 years ago. Tuens out it was "only" a 31 Model A coupe titled as a 32, but was still way worth the money.

Hey Ryan, don't be discouraged by nay sayers! I went to look at a 32 3 window and also a 40 sedan under similar circumstances. I thought for sure it would be a Model A or other similarly shaped vehicle. As it turned out it was indeed a 32. I could only buy one. Vehicle wise the 40 was way better, but I cold not pass up the 32.

I went to look at a "Camaro" and found a '57 T-Bird. The fellow that told me about the Camaro wasnt mistaken, though, there had been a Camaro there but it got sold a little time before i went. The Camaro had a 302 motor twin carters on a high rise and was a genuine Yenko.

I did buy the T-Bird though.

    Good luck with the chase.

Keen to see how this plays out, would be awesome if it actually was a 32 and they didn't want stupid money for it.

  19. I once went to look at a '32 5 window body for $200.
When I got there, sure enough, it was.
Now it's just regret that I sold it a while later.
Hope this one pans out for you.

That's right, I have been reading through it with ardent anticipation.

  24. The suspense is killing me .... since we are all volunteering stories I went to check out a thorty four pickup .... ended up being a stack of sheet metal ... no frame or cowl ... of what used to be a early chevy. ... the ones with wood door frames .... all toast.

It will turn out to be a complete '32 coupe with just a little surface rust...and hanging from the passenger side door handle...a bloody hook...

  30. This is how part 3 of The Human Centipede begins. A guy gets lured to a old barn to see a '32. Next thing you know your lips are sewn to someone else's butt. Just kidding, hope it works out for you.
