  1. I have seen ads that show rims as wheels, tires as wheels and packages as wheels. Correct me if I am wrong; Rims are rims, Tires are tires, and a tire on a rim is a wheel. Anyone agree with me??

actually a rim and a center as an assembly is a wheel. a tire on a wheel is a wheel tire combo

  3. .........I'm not sure I understand where you're going with this, but a tire on a rim is just that, a tire on a rim, not a wheel.:)

A rim in actual definition is the hoop around the wheel center or spider.
The rim and spider combo is a wheel.

When they invented the wheel I don't think they'd invented tyres yet.

Take this as good natured ribbing please, but "wheels" changed to "rims" about the time young guys started referring to Model "A"s as "five window coupes"...

the young guys are destroying our language, calling it a drop axle when it is a dropped axle, a draw when its a drawer and thinking an International truck is a traditional hot rod
