Brookline Mass. Top 10 day today. Lots of straight axles and mid-years (lots of gold chainers w/ brand new ones too) Also a few early race cars from the museum...
Although I'm partial to Bad Penny's aztec copper 57, Yeah that red 62 with the dog dishes would be my pick too!! The two Kurtis cars must've been real neat to see, especially the one with the injected hemi stuffed into it! BP, do you remember what the blue #10 was?
Some very nice Corvettes. Race cars are beautiful, wonder how the Hemi powered Kurtis ran. Any idea who drove it? Thanks for sharing the photos.
My Kurtis book lists the hemi powered #25 for the 1953 Indy as the Chrysler/Wolcott entry driven by George Conner. Did not qualify.
Sorry dude, can't remember what it was for the life of me. I read the sign in front of it twice so I'd remember...should'a taken a pic of that as well !! HRP...that 62 w/ the dog dishes is a friend of mines car. It's one every award that it can in the Vette world.(top flight, PV, Duntov, etc,) He also owns a silver w/ red int. 57' that is just killer !!! If anyone would like to see more pics (Vettes) let me know...I took 50 or so. Sorry not many HAMB friendly ones. I.E. race/gasser/modified
I found out the #10 is the 1938 Sparks Thorne Little Six. More pics and info at The Old Motor. http://theoldmotor.com/?s=Larz+Anderson
Yeah, yeah that's it, the Sparks Thorne car. Now I remember, thanks. Here's a few more pics. A Dusey racer, Offey motor from the 52 Kurtis and a 53 Vette.
