I have to say I have always had ideas for my 39 and well I am finally getting to them. I have done alot to her since I bought her out of a hay loft in New York. But either way it has been slow going but she is getting to where I want her. Since I had brought it out of storage last I had been invited to the Calvalcade of Cars in Hamburg, NY, While I was there for the weekend I had a blast with the guys/gals at the show.

During this time I had the oppurtunity to meet one hell of an upolstery guy. He and I started talking and well one thing led to another and he created a beautiful interior for the 39. the only thing is the dash I had in it was terrible and would eventually take away from the car so I decided to use this 57 Ford dash I had laying around so let the fun begin

So after taking some measurements I took 10" out of the center

Then came the top edge and well this goes like this measure cut measure cut measure cut .....

Mocking it up still needs some more triming but we are getting closer

This is it for now tomorrow is another day :D

I have to get this dash done by the end of this weekend to stay on track. I hope to have the interior all in and new covered running boards on by fathers day

The pad is removable it has stainless snaps on it. Probably just keep it in the trunk when I am going on long runs

Finished up the welding tonight tomorrow I will grind it and get started on the bodywork and hopefully get it painted by this weekend.

Great job on fitting the dash and steering column into your '39. I like the late fifties, early sixties look that you are doing on your car!

I love 39 Tubs, but if you told me you were going to install a 57 Ford dash I would be totally against it. Guess what, it looks wonderful installed with the wrap around garnish moldings. I don't recall seeing this done in a 39 before, so congratulations. Keep the photos coming

Thanks Pewsplace! I have not seen it done either and thought it will fit the look I am going for with the car. Not to metion it was the most complete dash I had from ths era. I am hoping to have all the fitting done this week so we can get the body and paint work done asap.:D

Does anyone know if 1956 57 58 and 59 Ford steering wheel horn rings are interchangable? I have a 57 wheel that I am using but I have no horn ring for it.

Btt if anyone can tell me about the horn ring ? I see them listed on the auction site but just would like to know for sure they do or do not interchange in these years.
