how did you get yours so low? I just got a 58 and am working on getting the right stance for it. any picks and tips would be great! truck looks sick by the way and props on all the work. keep it up
Its got a volare clip up front and a flipped rear axle and cnotch. Check out my first build thread on the first post of this thread.
Love the truck. Did your girlfriend take your avatar picture? It's tiny so I can't see all the details but from the lighting and pop of red I thought it was an old kodachrome picture from Life magazine or something. She's got real talent.
Yes Hailee took that pic. Its of me underneath my truck when it was in my garage. I was being a goofball! lol
I helped Jon do his volare subframe. The original Ford cross member doesn't come completely out, you only have to trim some off of it to make room for the volare.
No, I think he meant the old transmission crossmember that was not in use. I seen somebody asking about that the other day.
that's the one I was talking about. I going a little different way then you are. I know everyone hates the SBC . going the rat rod look or the rust look lol. I would of went with a 390 but cant get them around here anymore .
Got these shorty sanderson headers today, need a little cleaning. The long tubes or cast iron stockers wouldn't cut it!
Trucks lookin good mang, Going to put some stripes on her? In the pictures from Kellison Automotive Restoration, is that Jeremys Model A PU? Is he working back in town now, its a great little A
So yesterday Keeth and I went to Brooks and I bought $127 worth of parts, everything I needed. We got my exhaust made and installed, all my fuel lines and other hoses, got antifreeze in radiator, ATF in but I have a small leak around the shifter gasket, then I got $8 worth of gas and poured that in. I also got a battery for free. We had some wiring problems and it turned out to be my voltage gauge, it wasn't letting current through, so we by-passed it and it turned over. My timing was way off and it backfired and blew the carb off! I have an adapter on it with a cheap bolt kit, which the hex head bolts weren't long enough, it only had one thread in the intake. So we fixed the timing and started it and it had a big cough but it was 11 at night so we didn't try and keep it going. So today I gotta get another carb gasket and some longer hex head bolts.
Had a few minor issues today but we got the truck fired up and drove it around the block about ten times. it sounds bad ass straight piped and we believe it has a mild RV cam in it. My girlfriend got some good videos which she is uploading but I'm gonna try and get them on youtube tomorrow.
Here's the videos as promised! http://s547.photobucket.com/user/53oldsmobile/media/VID_20130602_174855_zpsbf91ec08.mp4.html http://s547.photobucket.com/user/53oldsmobile/media/VID_20130602_171547_zps27022e69.mp4.html http://s547.photobucket.com/user/53oldsmobile/media/VID_20130602_180516_zps96cb5f39.mp4.html http://s547.photobucket.com/user/53oldsmobile/media/VID_20130602_174705_zpsd5ba3b22.mp4.html http://s547.photobucket.com/user/53oldsmobile/media/VID_20130602_181046_zpsdd746cf9.mp4.html http://s547.photobucket.com/user/53oldsmobile/media/VID_20130602_180702_zps4a1c5d9b.mp4.html http://s547.photobucket.com/user/53oldsmobile/media/VID_20130602_180928_zps0776c96a.mp4.html There is still some fine tuning to do on the carb but it's not bad. Also need to check timing with the light..
Ok, I'll be first...... CONGRATS. Running and driving. I have a 59 thats in pieces, at this time. Great looking truck.
anybody know whats going on with this 3 window? it used to belong to a friend of mine who passed away about 2 years ago., he had it for close to 30 years.
Sweet dude. I 'll check the videos when I get home, work cock blocks me from youtube for some reason. But yea, it is an awesome feeling to drive it after all that hard work...
