I honestly think that the majority of the European hot rodders have a deeper understanding of traditional than the majority of us State side. Looking at the videos it's like going back in time. HRP
Yeah, "the old europe" rules ! No, honestly, we had our trauma in the 80´s with billet, neon, graphics rods etc... it´s good to have so many traditional built stuff around here now. The Hayride event in the UK seems to be THE place to go !! Also you´ll find lots of Flathead V8´s at the Headbangin´ in Finsterwalde/ germany !

Yes they have. In the early days of the HAMB you could always count on the Euro & Down Under crowd to post up incredible albums of spot on rides.

But it's a shame that 95% of the cars are imported from the US as they are. You rarely find a car built in Germany. Mario
Funny you mentioned that. When I was first building my T Bucket, it was in a warehouse where I worked and the owner was from Austria. When I asked permission to use a spot for my build, he was surprised. At first, I thought it was because he didn't think I could do it. Later, he explained to me that building a car from scratch or old pieces was impossible in his country. The laws and regs made it impossible. While a lot of these cars pictured may be imported, at least they had the insight to not screw them up. So, on that note, I always have much regard for their efforts and willingness to keep them traditional.
If I didn't know better I'd think I was looking at an American car show---way to go. Good looking stuff.
--- Maybe in the old style & traditional scene. But lots of the hot rods are build in Europe during the past 10 years. Many Rods are out of the UK, were they have at the large shows over 1500 hot rods. More and more rod shops pop´out, and the well name european rod shops are very busy. Fresh cars can compete with basic brizio & so cal rides. SoCal has shops in UK , Chapouris, Jimmy S, Billy Gibbons and so on show up at the large UK shows and visit Europe frequently. Waiting time for a pro build hot rod is over a year in EU rod shop, till they start your ride. The org. stock fords ( ect.) sell ok in europe too. Many Mode A´s and B´s were build in europe. And prices for good org. cars are often cheaper here than a usa import. Hot Rods with german historic registration sell well at the moment ! We have in the Rhein-Main area every week a american car or classic car show. The scene is still growing. Greets, -C-. --
I'll vouch for that, I have sold Mickey lots of early v-8 componets to build hotrods with, the German chapter of the Aces have a lot of cool cars too, I was selling the Sweds hotrod projects in the eighties , they were building traditional stuff back then when most guys were building rainbow billet stuff in the states. Sweden has the most fifties american cars per person in the world,they were buying the stuff when nobody would give those cars a second look
Correct on the '80's trad builders over there. Gahnal wrote an article on them. It's where I discovered how DP-90 was a killer coating for beaters.
------------------ I´m just be back from Cruising the Alp´s @ the Ameican Graffiti Show, Dornbirn Austria. Its not a old Style, Livestyle or Kustom´s only event, but there were lots of nice rides there. We had a great weekend arround the American Graffiti Show in Dornbirn, Austria. The weather forcast was real bad with 80% rain. But, we catched not one drop´of rain, it was a sunny nice weenkend! We cruise 200 miles in the austrian & swiss alp´s. Some sightseeing routes were a bit stressy´for the driver & the hot rods, but all made it without big problems.
