Hot Rods 1931model A sedan convertible

I was reading a book on ford cars and I read that ford sold 4864 31 model A sedan convertibles in the United States. I've never heard of or seen any of these. Is there anyone on the HAMB with one or any pics of them floating around. It would be cool to see. Thanks

Yup. The A400 was made in 1931 and had the lowest production numbers of any of the Model A's (not including commercial vehicles). I was told by an older fellow that the '400 Club' was a term for the upper-crust society types- hence the name A400. They also made a B400 in 1932 but production of the convertible sedan ended after that.
Size wise, they're a bit closer to a Vicky than a sedan. They're a bit shorter in both height and length than the standard sedan. I believe the cowl is also the same (if not very similar) to a Slant-Windshield Fordor.

 

I think if anything, the cowl would be more like that of a slant windshield Cabriolet (68C) body.

 

This is a pair of 1931 Model A400 bodys a friend has in is shop.

 

Ford brought back the convertible sedan from 35-39 , although these were 4 door versions.
