What Wheels are These

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by MannyK, May 26, 2013.

  1. I know its a drawing but this is my next project inspiration. They seem to just be 5 slots but is there a particular brand that fits this picture best?

Look like Ansen to me,i had a set on my Vette in the 60's

  3. I'm gonna check out some Ansens, thanks

  4. Do you think these would look good on a 5 window, or should I put on some classic bullet spokes?

As said above art is hard to interpret but they do look like Polished Kidney's or Astro? chrome slots. Some one on here is reproducing those, I have his name in my email folder if someone is interested.

Earliest of Halibrand small windows. The car is drawn in late fifties/early sixties garb, that would be about all that was around like that then.

  9. Sorry about that I mean wheels like TQ or Radir Bullet Spoke

Why don't you ask Weisner, I am sure he would tell you what he intended them to represent.

If you look hard enough, you will find some chrome slots.

I picked up these last year for my '59. The front narrow ones are Mickey Thrompsons, & the wide ones are Rockets. Both are from the early 70's.

Btw, the narrow M/T's are thicker & heavier the the wider rockets

63 Falcon that I had in 68 had chrome slots that were, as I recall, made by Appliance. Here in middle Tn. everyone referred to them as Astros regardless of who made them.

So, those fronts were intended to be the skinny Halibrand kidney beans with a full polish. They do look like they could be the Astro steel slots though. Definitely not Ansons, too late for the style of the car in the painting.
