Here is a video someone took from the stands of our 33 Willys (Gene Brigance) and The McLaughlin & Holmes 41 making a fast pass at the Fuel & Gas race from Memphis this weekend. The 33 ran a 8.35 @ 159. Just getting a handle on the tune, only has around 20 passes or less. Still shaking it down. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HXVlg8qtHic
That is a nice ride----checked it out at Memphis last Saturday. They had some really cool rides, but I was real disappointed in the turnout. Almost no spectators, very few car show cars, and NO swap meet stuff at all. Can't understand why there were so few folks there.
All I saw was green blur and a little bit of taillights on the far right side of the screen Sounded damn good though
Yea we licensed Gene the weekend before BG in the car, it was the first time out of the shop. Then he went right to BG and ran some 8.60s. This weekend was some crap air but we got a fair tune and went 8.35.
Yea it was kinda disappointing. But really a good TNT for BG. I think there was some miss communication between the track and the promoters.
Ladder bar car, very simple chassis. There are some build pics on my web site. www.dthotrods.com Look under projects then 1933 Willys.
very little planning. i did not know about it or get flyers to hand out until a couple of weeks before. i plan almost a year in advance for the events i go to. the commerce deal was good in october, but you got to let people know way in advance in this economy
I try to get the guys in our group (southerngassers.org) pumped up a little by posting pictures from these events, but I'm having a hard time as no one seems to post pictures. This is not the only event, Yello Belly had very little post race coverage also.
