First of all this Design belongs to Rick Dore. I am just trying to get ideas. These are Caddy Sombreros with what kind of center wheel cap? l
If what you're trying to find out is what the centre of the wheel cover is made of? It looks to me like the ribbed section in the centre is off a corvette rally hubcap, the 3 ribs mounted to it are possibly off another 50's wheelcover (eg olds fiesta or aftermarket) and the centre bullet would probably be an aftermarket one (I think you can buy them from summit etc). hope this helps.
Perfect example of how people totally screwed up customs w cheap gawdy doodads and continue to this day. Subtle elegance makes a true class custom .
The Custom Royal Lancer '59 Dodge used a 4-bar 'spider type' spinner shuch as that. The Bullets are aftermarket
Closest thing to that, that's not gawdy, is a set of Lancers. I have a set for sale in the classifieds. Cut 'em up if you like. Sent from atop my toilet using the TJJ app for Android.
First off Rick Dore had large billiet CC wheels on that 51 Merc. The new owner Chris had them removed due to tire to fender issues. It now has 15" steel wheels with 1957 Caddy cap with 1959 Lancer center crab claw with a center die cast bullit. I know this as i supplied most of the parts and my brother Duwane installed them. Later Chris added the 4 uglly spikes out on the end of the bullit. I think these would of looked better IMOP Erickson / Extreme Kustoms 951 678-3520
I guess I just don't get it (probably too old)......why a person wants some of these spikes, bullets and other stuff on their wheels----sometimes on the body as well. I don't think it adds a thing. But, to each his own I guess.
