New here to the site. Have seen the site and been a lurker for many years. Have recently been able to acquire a 51 F7 Big Job that is a former VFD vehicle. It has had a 1950 frame put under it with a 78 firebird front section. This was already done when I found the truck. I was also able to pick up a 289 HiPo engine with C4 along with the truck. I have been into Fox Mustangs since 1990 and have been adicted to the fun of speed and HP. I have recently come to find out how much fun it is to deal with all metal bodies vs the urethane clad newer cars. Wish I could say that my Dad passed down the car torch to me but it started with me. Maybe my Daughter will love playing in the garage as much as I do. The 51 F7 should be a fun truck to get back on the road and also hopefully become a nice family fun vehicle. Of course I would love to be able to use the truck to haul my fairlane around when needed but not an absolute need. Once the fairlane is completed it should not need a tow unless broken.
Thanks for the welcome... I'm originally from the San Antonio/New Braunfels area. I moved to the Houston area in 1998.
Here are the pictures of the F7... The owner of the property has a few projects of his own... His current one is a 39 Ford Coupe.
i lived in katy texas for awhile back in 1986-87 and vacationed in new bruns.. and floated the river and even got a speeding ticket there..welcome to the hamb
64Fairlane408 Tried to buy a 64 like you have at a farm near you, he wouldn't SELL at the time, last month he sold it to a fella thru Craigs List that picked it up for $400. Talked to him and asked why he turned down $600 a few years back, end of that conversation. Goin' with a BOLT theme?
No Bolt theme... It's getting over done... I may have been the person that bought the car you looked at. Was it out in Plantersville? I bought this one for $300.00.. Pile of RUST and no title! It has made a great pile of replacement parts. I was going to swap parts and put it back on the road until I saw it had a major front suspension part completely rusted off the frame. The title was the real breaker for me.
The 64 is not a keep it original theme. I will not be doing a build thread on it here. The truck will likely have a build thread here. Thanks for the warm welcome.
