24 days until we leave for Santa Maria... this is what the car looks like today. I got the ac all set up. Tomorrow we Fab the splash pan. Then back to Kustoms By Jennings to complete the paint. I dropped the front seat and door panels at the upholstery shop today too. Gonna be a thrash but we're going either way

Today we finished up the pan and install. Then I drug it back to Kustoms By Jennings where I got to take it all apart so the pan can get body worked. I did get the belts on the ac system/ alternator so we are charging again. Dropped the ac lines off also to be crimped. Hard to say if I'll get the bumpers back in time but I should be cool driving down..

I really looks nice, I am currently working on my 50 fleetline. I have a question about the S10 trans, do you know which model you used and how is it holding up. My 235 is very highly modified and splitting bellhousings , i am a little hesitant to use the s10 5 speed not sure if it is strong enough.

I can't imagine a 235 with enough poop to break bell housings. Any chance you have bad mounts or something? Either way a t5 from a 2wd s10 or small blazer is what you want. V6 ideally. They are pretty tough and can handle mild small blocks so they should be pretty indestructible behind a 235

No bad mounts , it was built in the mid 70's, and ran very well. I went thru several muncie's and tore up a T10 ( Twisted the tail shaft off) and ended up running a muncie Rock crusher for the last years it was on the road. We parked the car in 79 to take care of our business and other things. Just started restoring the care this winter and was changing the trans out and noticed the bell housing split up the middle. I tied the engine down pretty solid back then as it was always breaking mounts and twisting things around. I currently have a T5 from an 85 V6 camaro and all the local guys that know the car keep saying not to use it , it just will not last if i run it hard. It made RPm in the mid 5600-6000 range and was a lot of fun to drive. The biggest problem then was throwing the fins of the generator and cutting the belt

Wow sounds like some motor! I know the gear sets in the t5 are weaker than that rock crusher. Don't know about the case but I doubt Itll hold up

Dropped these with Randy at Robinson's Chrome on Sunday morning. Now they look like this. A little more TLC around the exhaust ports and they are ready for dippin and copper
